Politics and humor

AS the political crisis deepens, more and more jokes are circulating. Texters and bloggers are now asked to “stop all the intrigues.” As all jokes are, what one finds funny maybe offensive to some.

Humor has always been a tool for people to reflect on a nation’s political process. It is also an outlet for the frustrations of people who feel oppressed, revealing truths that might have gone unseen.

Here, we’re posting another ‘Hello Garci’ ringtone version made available via RapidShare and a set of jokes we’ve compiled so far as a rejoinder to Uniquely Pinoy Humor.

Flash: GMA popularity ratings reach an all time high. Her CD reached platinum in less less than a week.

===

BUNYE: I have the authentic tape! Theirs is the doctored sister!

PAGUIA: My tape is the older sister of Bunye’s tape!

ONG: I have the mother of all tapes!

WYCOCO: I have the mother of all mother tapes!

PING: I have the Grandmother of all those mother tapes you fool!

ERAP: Anak ng jueteng! All I have is the Querida with me, I mean the stepmother of the grandmother of all those mother tapes!!! But the Querida always knows more, ask Julie Yap!

RAMOS: I have the real mother of all grandmother tapes!!! hehehe!

CARDINAL SIN: I have the Mother Superior tape with me, and you can bet it’s the virgin version!

ATE GLOW: You fools! I am the surrogate mother to all those tapes! Sorry, all those wiretapped materials are just phone rehearsals for my upcoming movie with Eddie Garci entitled “Lagot ka, lagot ka! The Movie!” And yes, we leaked the tape as a publicity stunt. Thanks for all the publicity.

===

Gloria’s prayer: gambling lords, who art in jueteng hakot be thy name thy kickback come, thy wealth be done in Malacañang as it is in Pampanga. Amin iyan!

===

Reporter: Madam president what can you say about the allegations of Sandra Cam and Samuel Ong?

PGMA: Oh cam ong! Do you really believe them?

===

GMA: “Lord, you put me here, please help me.”

Lord’s reply: “Wrong number! This is the good Lord…try your jueteng lords. Maybe they can help you!”

Gloria’s Prayer:

Gambling Lord’s
Who art in Jueteng
Hakot be thy name
Thy kickback come
Thy wealth be done in Malacañang
As it is in Pampanga!

Amin yan!

Amen.

Another version:

Aba naman Gloria napupuno ka ng grasya.
Ang kayamanan ng tao ay sumaiyo na,
Bukod kang pinagpala sa babaeng lahat.
Pinagpala rin ang iyong angkan. Wala nang natira sa
AMEN.

those are really funny, mind you. the only thing i don’t like with the filipino’s humor is, it is extending to the point that ‘prayers’ are also included in their jokes. actually, i don’t find them funny, i just simply skip them.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

We have been baffled by this question for years. Yet until now, we couldn’t seem to find a definite answer. Why did the chicken cross the road? Here’s why according to some famous local personalities:

President GMA:
Hello Garci.

Former Comelec Commissioner Virgilio Garcillano:
Sige po ma’am. Gagawan natin ng paraan. Ipapakidnap ko ang mga sisiw.

Susan Roces:
Let us remain calm. Let us follow the rule of law in determining the chicken’s motive for crossing the road.

Former President Joseph Estrada:

Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye:
That chicken which allegedly crossed the road is a fake. We have the real chicken in our coop!

Sen. Ping Lacson:
I have asked a foreign group to authenticate the taxonomic classification of that animal which crossed the road. No doubt, it was indeed a chicken.

Former Sen. Kit Tatad:
I did my own authentication. The chicken is real.

Bro. Mike Velarde:
Tiyak ‘yon.

NBI Director Reynaldo Wycoco:
Both chickens are fake.

Archbishop Oscar Cruz:
I have witnesses to prove that the chicken crossed the road.

Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism Blog:
We have the complete audio and video of the chicken crossing the road. Download here.

Atty. Allan Paguia:
I admit! I spliced the chicken but only for my post-graduate class. I didn’t fry it. In fact it’s still alive.

Cong. Chiz Escudero:
Once and for all, I am challenging the chicken. The public is waiting for its answer. Did it cross the road or not. If yes, why? If no, I still won’t believe it.

Atty. Samuel Ong:
It was looking for its mother. But the chicken won’t find it because I am keeping the mother of all chickens.

Sgt. Vidal Doble:
It was forced to cross the road.

Sen. Aquilino Pimentel:
Impeach the chicken!

Bayan Muna Rep. Teddy Casiño:
The chicken has betrayed the motorists’ trust when it crossed the road. Fry it!

Sandra Cam:
The chicken has laid dozens of chicken eggs across the road. I was personally asked by the chicken – which happened to be my close friend – to deliver the eggs to Congressmen Mikey and Iggy Arroyo. But please, do not insinuate that I had a special relationship with the chicken. It was just a friend.

Cong. Mikey Arroyo:
That chicken is a liar! I never received a single egg from that animal.

Cong. Ignacio Arroyo:
I will file a libel case against the chicken!

NTC Commissioner:
That’s fowl. You should not discuss that on air. Else, we shall revoke your franchise.

KBP:
Fowl or not, the NTC’s circular is curtailment of press freedom.

nice post guys!im a newbie here but i wanna’ say something..

Well,i think, all of this foolishness happening to our country is the damned effect of “love of power and money” and of bein’ “selfish”. These are those who are in control of our beloved country. Those who have the damned guts to squeeze a penny out of a “very very” poor man’s pocket. Those are the ones that we call f**king PESTS of the society.

I just wonder how the hell they swallow those kinds of damned deeds. World knows that we are a religous people.
But where are the teachings that we learn from our own different religous groups. I bet that every known religion in the world teaches what is good and bad. But still we are so damned that we continue doing things that makes our society sick. Just where the hell is the damned “conscience”??

Pero anong nakuha natin? we got nothing but the NEGATIVITIES of all thos races.

I can see that most of us are looking for healing, one that can pull up this country out of the pit of poverty. That’s why we easily bite the propagandas and all of those f**king promises of those damned politicians. But,instead of healing we got nothing but more and more trouble because of repeated mistakes in choosing our leaders.

We can’t just directly blame those TRAPOs because they’re not gonna make it without our “precious” VOTES.

We need no heroes,we need no politicians, all we need is ourselves and God. We need to reform, to change in to something better. We may wonder why God let this happen, but lets first ask that question to ourselves…
“WHY DID WE LET THIS HAPPEN?”

I truly believe that if you want to change the world…..

“START BY CHANGING YOURSELF”.. 😀

all this is a result of a very very low budget on education.

sorry pero enjoy ang mga panahong ganito. he he he.

Filipinos clamor for scandalous ringtone

Philippine President Gloria Macapagal ArroyoYOUR E-MAIL ALERTS

Gloria Macapagal Arroyo

MANILA, Philippines (Reuters) — Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo may be struggling with record-low popularity, but a simple two-word greeting attributed to her has shot to the top of the charts in the cell phone-mad country.

A Web site offering a mobile phone ringtone featuring the words “Hello Garci” briefly crashed late last week as thousands of Filipinos clamored to download it.

Text message consumer rights group TXTpower said its site (http://www.txtpower.org/) had been overwhelmed by demand for the clip taken from a recording at the center of allegations Arroyo tried to fix the result of last year’s election.

“So many users were accessing the Web site that the allotted bandwidth was consumed,” TXTpower’s Ricardo Banague told Reuters Monday.

In the full conversation, which the government says was illegally wiretapped and then doctored, a woman who sounds like Arroyo asks senior election official Virgilio Garcillano whether she would win by more than 1 million votes in a southern area.

the lighter side of all these Pinoy
jokes is that it is a way of diverting
attention from our unfortunate
circumstances. It’s like drugs which
make us high.

But there’s another side to it. Ask Erap
the icon of a thousand jokes. Those
jokes are like KARMA, if not a CURSE
that’s approved by the Force.

Darth Vader’s punishment was physical:
barbecued face, mechanical arms
and legs. And a face mask to wear forever.

Erap’s curse was lighter, nocturnal
thoughts fueled by conscience,
loneliness when awaken in mid sleep.

Every dawn in Tanay, Eraps thoughts
brings back the happy days and the
nagging question of why must he suffer?

How many nights and how many dawns
to be alone with no one to talk to
but your conscience?

Longer than you think if you ask Erap.
As long as the days Gloria enjoys the
Seat of power and the machetes of critics.

For those nights and dawn alone
For those nights and dawn of conscience
Erap’s improbable return, might give
better times to the Filipino people.

Were there jokes about Darth Vader
before Anakin carried out operation 66
to wipe out the Jedi? The answer calls for
A sequel about Yodda the Light of the Force.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU.

I was listening to the DZBB Radio this day, and I heard Sec. Mike Defensor inteviewed by the host, depending his Bogus President! wow, very obvious ang mga sagot nya, even an unschooled person would be able to contest his defense, porke indirect daw ang mga usapan doon, wla daw cnasabing dayain mo, but the outcome is so obvious right now that the bogus president still adamant to answer all the question pertaining to that conversation, thats means GUILTY IN ALL CHARGES ANG BOGUS PRESIDENT NATIN! kc simply lang e if you’re not guilty, you should defend yourself or clean up your name! but her continued deaf & mute style will not help her to anyway so hopefully God will convict her to step down now! for the sake of our beloved country and to the people!

People are in doubt about what’s next after G.ARROYO.
What’s life after G.ARROYO? THERE SEEMS TO
PREVAIL PESSIMISM ON THE ABILITY
OF THE FILIPINO TO LEAD AND GOVERN
HONESTLY, WITH INTEGRITY AND DIGNITY.

THIS IS WRONG, ABSOLUTELY WRONG.

I AM OFFERING A FORMULA, THE MOTHER
OF ALL HOPES TO RESURRECT THE DEAD
SOUL OF BONIFACIO’S FILIPINO.

The formula comes from the mind of a poor
apolitical animal who knows much about
theory and practice of governance in our
country and overseas. This apolitical animal
came home from the cold, uncorrupted
and unscathed. So I am gladly sharing
with you his IGCRP. Read on…

WITH MALICE TOWARDS NONE THIS FORMULA IS
OFFERED TO THE PCIJ READERS AND THE FILIPINO PEOPLE:

INTERIM GOVERNMENT COUNCIL OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES (IGCRP)

RATIONALE

Upon resignation or removal of Mrs. Gloria M. Arroyo, the people of the Republic of the Philippines shall request the UN Secretary General Kopi Anan through the UNDP resident representative to appoint immediately a UN Secretary General Representative
(SGR- R.P.) to the Philippines (just like in Timor Lorosae) to carry out the duty of organizing the Interim Government Council of the Republic of the Philippines (IGCRP) and the Interim Criminal Courts (ICCRP) to conduct the trial of violators of the election law and relevant laws during the 2004 elections.

The primary function of the (SGR-RP) thru the help of local UNDP staff and UN Volunteers from overseas shall be to help the various sectors of society select their representative the Council (IGRCP) in terms of impartial policy and methodology, necessary administrative materials and administrative staff.

The Interim Government Council of the Republic of the Philippines (IGCRP) shall have a lifespan of one year unless extended by the UN Secretary General.

IGCRP’s primary function and responsibility shall be the preparation and conduct of a national election under UN supervision, nine (9) months after its formal creation and to issue interim policies to reform the bureaucracy. Its second important function is to organize an interim criminal court (ICC) to conduct trials of violators of the election law and if the IGCRP so decides to try those who have violated the Anti-graft Laws.

IGCRP shall effect the speedy reform of the Philippine bureaucracy by issuing policies governing resignation, compensation, and appointment to vacated positions.

IGCRP shall consider for decisions the possible resignation of the
FOLLOWING;

The eleven members (11) shall come from the following:

Something more follows:

SO MUCH HAS BEEN SAID BY BLOGGERS AND COMENTATORS ABOUT THE NEED FOR CHANGE.
BLOGGERS ARE NOW CHALLENGE TO OFFER THEIR OWN FORMULA.

SO MUCH HAS BEEN SAID ABOUT THE HOPELESSNESS OF THE PHILIPPINE SITUATION. THE SITUATIONS IN RWANDA, IN EAST TIMOR, IN DARFUR, IN AFGHANISTAN, IN RAQ, IN HAITI, ETC. WERE MUCH WORSE.

THIS IGCRP FORMULA IS ONLY THE FIRST SPERM FOR CHANGE, LET OTHERS PUT FORTH THEIR SPERM AND CONTEND TO FERTILIZE THAT ELUSIVE OVUM OF
HOPE FOR THE COUNTRY.

ASK YOUR QUESTIONS, IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE
ABOUT THE IGCRP FORMULA. IF YOU THINK THIS FORMULA IS A GOOD START, SPREAD IT AROUND.

DO YOU THINK FILIPINOS CAN DO IT? I KNOW UN WILL HELP US DO IT.

SO IF YOU THINK THE FORMULA IS OKAY, LET US ALL, repeat LET US ALL WRITE KOFI ANAN FOR HELP AND LET THE WHOLE WORLD KNOW ABOUT IT.
