Mrs. Arroyo and Mrs. Poe

AT about 11:30 this morning, the President, speaking in her usual drone, announced before the country’s top business executives the exile of her husband, without admitting that he or any other member of her family were guilty of indiscretions and stressing instead the sacrifices her family had made for her presidency. (Download the President’s speech in PDF or audio file)

Just minutes later, even before Filipinos could digest the full import of that announcement, the rug was swept from under the President’s feet. At Club Filipino, Susan Roces, speaking mostly in Tagalog, said in no uncertain terms: the President stole our vote. She must resign. (Download excerpts of Mrs. Poe’s statement in PDF or audio files 1 and 2)

The contrast could not have been more dramatic. Mrs. Arroyo was speaking in English from a prepared text, in her typical business-as-usual, admit-no-evil, “I-have-a-Phd-in-economics” manner to businessmen who wanted to be assured that the current political controversy would not unduly destabilize the economy. She offered her husband as the sacrificial lamb, with the hope that the offering would appease the business community and the middle class.

Mrs. Poe, on the other hand, was speaking extemporaneously and looking every inch the leading lady. She spoke to her husband’s constituency in Tagalog taken straight out of a 1960s movie script:

Ngunit sa kasalukuyan, ang nanlalamang at kumikital sa ating karapatan ay sarili nating kalahi at kadugo (Only on election day are all of us truly equal. Rich or poor, each of us has only one vote, that is why it is so sacred. I am saddened and angered by what has happened. In the past, those who exploited and trampled on our rights were foreigners who invaded our land. Now, it is our own countrymen, those of our own blood, who are guilty of such odious crimes).”

The President was making an appeal of expediency: the economy is on the right track, any upheaval now would only derail growth and prosperity.

Mrs. Poe, on the other hand, took the moral high ground: the president erred and she should go, regardless of the consequences.

Expediency or morality? Stability or upheaval? The battle for the hearts of Filipinos is certain to heat up in the coming days.

I was still wondering why GMA would say that she had sacrifices her family for the sake of her presidency, unless she or they have done something wrong in exchange of what she is enjoying right now….the position siempre. I hate the way she makes paawa effect sa national television as if sya ang ninakawan at wala syang ginawang masama. If only I could slap her face just to get rid of the anger I am feeling right now.

MS. ARROYO, UMABOT KA NA SA PWESTONG GANYAN KATAAS. DAPAT ANG PERSONAL HAPPINESS MO NA AY ANG PAG-ANGAT AT PAGKAKAISA NG BANSANG PINAGSISILBIHAN MO. SA ORAS NA NAGDESISYON KANG MAGLINGKOD SA BAYAN, MATAGAL MO NA DAPAT ISINAKRIPISYO ANG PERSONAL HAPPINESS NA NAIHAHATID NG PAMILYA MO (KUNG MERON MAN).

First things first, Shiela.

It is a fallacy for me to put GMA in the same equation with Susan Roces in the present political context. This is neither a boxing match nor a tale of the tapes thing that the People of the Philippines will be glad to choose their bets. For in doing so, we will greatly miss the main issue.

The main issue is whether or not the President, after admitting her lapses, will be held liable. Clearly, Mrs. Poe is right by taking the moral high ground: the president erred and she should go, regardless of the consequences.

The consequences will be dealt later. I have faith in our Malayan blood and besides, we are known to be survivors.

Thus, between expediency and morality?

I choose morality and if I may add, the real rule of the law. For it is non sequitur if one chooses morality over expediency, said choice will lead to upheaval.

PULUBI AS IN NOT EVEN A CENT…

maniniwala ako sa kanya because she went after them.

story:

kahihiyan ka ng lahi mo na alam ko hindi tumatalab itong sinasabi ko pero for the benefit of all.. sana maintindihan nyo kung anong klaseng hayop ito….

its eitehr a gene from the mother side or the environment of the arroyos… coz im sure its not the father’s.

baka magalit kayo sa akin for including cardinal sin in the issue…

cardinal sin sired more than 60 kids… at galit siya kay erap for adultery… sa bagay hindi siya adulterer kasi hindi naman siya kasal eh.

cardinal sin also invited imelda marcos for a night…. ask her…

maniyakis yun… the again he must be good coz he can bring women to “heaven”

and its a culture in the philippines before that primus noctis is practiced by priests.

bagay na itatanggi nila… as rizal…

Ayaw ko lang palagpasin.

Your assertion that “cardinal sin sired more than 60 kids” is patently untrue. Cardinal Sin had too many enemies that if your assertion is true, either the Marcoses or the Estrada’s would have gotten at least one in front of a camera.

Can you at least try to get proof before asserting such nonsense?

THIS SONG IS DEDICATED TO ALLEGED PRESIDENT ARROYO

TUYO NA’NG DAMDAMIN
(J. Paredes)

(Instrumental)

I am not for FPJ, and not also for Gloria, but when La Presidentia Gloria wins I does agree for her. Kahit alam namin dumaya si Presidente (acting?), it is no doubt for the start the popularity of FPJ will cast him the presidency.

I believe Gloria, is just a lesser evil than FPJ that I would think he will be like erap since friends are in same feathers, Eventhough i heard much here in Mindanao that elections are rigged I keep quiet and I clear my conscience to think Gloria will save and uplift our economy. Yes its true from Susan Speech, Gloria wins legal but not in moral. Legality is only a results from judegement from the authority, while morality is judgement by God.

Now, I know and im sorry for what I believe, that choosing a lesser evil will be better. And accepting cheating is not good, and here we see her mess.

I believe in Divine Providence, and with FPJ gone, and the Jueteng Scandal, the Tape, and the events unfolding on us is just one way Gods ways are unfolding on us.

After these days, I have no vision where our country will go, and what will happen. But after all this I believe the Filipinos, and I will surely stay here in Philippines for best and for worst.

Tama si Gng. Roces. How many young and idealistic members of NAMFREL, church based organnizations who serve as wathdogs during the last electiions sacrificed their lives? In fact, we are concerned how the international community see our elections as an example of how democracy works that even the Gloria says is the basis of her legitimacy.

But to think that its the president of the Republic of the Philippines was responsible demonizing the results of the elelctions is to my mind, brutal and beyond civility.

I remember what the International observers noted after the elections, ang mga kandidato sa municipal level nagpapatayan para lang manalo sa elections, si Gloria, ilan ang mga alam niyang pinakidnap ni Garci para matupad ang gusto nilang One Million votes.

They even have the couraged to blame the opposition at the time as the one responsible in the kidnapping of elections officials when in fact it was their handiwork.

Dapat all the members of GMA family will be barred from leaving the country at dapat kasama dito si Iggy.

With GMA’s admission, the Justice should prevail. Congress should subpoena GMA to explain why she said sorry.

To stand by.. the Philippines is my ship.. well.. after reading all of this i really dont know what is to happen next. But i made some observations..

a few weeks ago.. when this was just surfacing. (The Seminary – Ong/Doble issue) Ms. Susan Roces seemed calm. Somewhat the message – “Lets all work together instead.” And I honestly wasnt expecting this. I could see the sincerity in her. No malice whats so ever. She alteast gave some support for the administration. And If i can recall, malacanang even praised her for her words. So i guess now, you can really see the change of heart. After GMA admitted those words im sure alot of peoples thinking changed. Or even grew deeper. I dont know what is to happen now. But for me I still stand on my beliefs. No turning back now. Loss of trust. Loss of credibility. Loss of stand. Loss of many things. I pray to God that He will send us an administration that we will change everything. For the better. Lets have faith..

And about those people saying.. “Kung hindi si GMA, d sino? Sino pa ba? Si Noli? Eh??” etc.. for me, in my opinion thats a big insult to the Filipino people. there are so many people who can do much better. Thats the thing. So much stonewalling and all that. Theres no path. No direction. We had people like Rizal and etc. So how can people say this? This is the part about working together. Sometimes somethings arent what they seem. But little do people know that its most important. And sadly enough.. as what Mr. Esposa said. About moving on.. at this time.. and at this stage.. It cant be done. To move on just like that. Its hard. No one deserves to suffer.. Plus the fact. For me, this is another eyeopener for lawmakers.. the congress and the administration and malacanang itself. (I hope they can see..) I and alot will agree that they dont see the reforms, the economic changes etc. Sure.. alot say things were done. But where? Where? Effects? Oh well.. (Im sorry if I said anything offending or to much.. just my comments)

Godbless you all!

Our Country is like a Ship and we are all the pepole in the ship
sailing into tommorows we never know, some have transfer ships
and have a happy sailing in their life and with their family.

We have already change captains a many times,
we force some of our ship captains to give up and exile,
other one we inprison and the present one to resign.
And this cause us to live in this rotten ship

But eventhough how rotten our ship is and is sinking fast
we dont want to give up our faith and democracy
To those who are with the ship, Filipinos and countrymen
we will not be changed, and give up democracy for survival

If in these days to come, that we will deeply sink
and before we die of hunger, we will fight for democracy and truth
I and you dont know what tommorow will come
These are the days of transitional

In these days to come I command everyone
to stay steadfast and hold on to our ship, we maybe
encounter big waves, and some leaking on our ship
and we do the best to hold on.

If days will come our captain is gone, be desicive enough
to choose who will be the next, for the longer we have no captain
the faster we will sink, these times i pray the Captain will give way
since if she will stays longer the ships will sink faster

To the captain, we are the people of the ship and we who row the ship
if there is no moral mandate anymore, people in the ship will not row anymore, and we will surely die.

For us who still live here in the same rotten ship
cause by our divided system, broken promises and beliefs,
Just Hold On and pray, these trouble times will past away.

I still have faith that some day we will sail smoothly and reach our destination wer’e the Filipinos rightly belong.

GMA will be gone in the next weeks. And who do you think will be the most reliable candidate for the position.

Don’t tell me it’s Kitty? Filipino people should learned form it’s mistake from the past.

Impeachable ba yon? kc they fabricated stories to cover up something na nung macorner sila, aaminin din pala ni Gloria.

gma is more unpalatable to me that susan roces or noli. legally, however, there is no way for susan roces to succeed gma. unless mag snap elections and she does a cory.

but i prefer that we follow the line of succession laid out in the constitution. that’s what democracy is all about. we put that document in to effect, let’s follow it. of course, this is all hinged in gma resigning. nobody has anything concrete that we can hold on to to disqualify noli.

noli was invited for vice presidency for the admin side to protect lopez interest.

same thing with legarda. do u really think they took the vice presidential race for themselves? its about protecting the lopez group of companies…and money that backs it.

though that is the case… dapat ready si noli tanggapin ang responsibility. problem is he doesnt… gnamit din siya ni gma for his popularity,,,, she needed votes.

tingin man natin na handa o hindi si noli is beside the point. we put the constitution in effect. let’s follow it. we can only hope that he steps up to the plate.

the point is not whether i’m maka noli. i’m not. the point is there is a line of succession enshrined in our constitution that we put into effect. we agreed that the constiution should be the fundamental law of the land and that we test all our processes by it. if we go against it we are going against ourselves and our democratic processes. if we do not follow the constitution we can come up with as many “bright ideas” as there are active (not necessarily logical) brains in the country (and beyond). who’s to say what is best? lacson? tatad? the estradas? you? that is why the constitution is vital. it tells us the answer to numerous fundamental questions in our country.

kaasar ano?

meron pang ilang aswang na nagsa-baboy na mangangalakal na umi-ire at umo-oink-oink ng pagkalakas-lakas “she’s already sorry, we have to accept it. she has shown courage. its time to get the investors in”… kitang-kita mo kung bakit tumaba at bumundat ang mga tarantadong ito na uma-apila na huwag mong maintindihan na gusto rin nilang lamunin ang kokonti at kakarampot mong kinikita sa araw-araw…..

malaman ang katotohanan. she’s just expressing her rights.
sana hndi n nya dinaya sa pag-manipula ng election returns sabi p nya “i’m just anxious of my votes
kaya ko tinawagan yung official”. kalokohan, alam nya nman n bawal mkpag usap sa comelect officials
before and after election n wala png inaannounce n nanalo. she uses her money and power to manipulate
and be able to win and to maintain in her throne. sa pagkaalam ko ang mka FPJ ang mga tao d2 sa mindanao,
maling gnwa.

The funny thing is this…PGMA and her allies are threatened by what Susan Roces can stir up in the
feelings of Filipinos especially those who are already dissatisfied with PGMA. The feelings of PGMA and her
allies are brought out in the open by the “revealing words” of JUSTICE RAUL GONZALES, who is already thinking
of filing an anti-sedition case against Ms. Susan Roces. A justice secretary should not concern himself of the
goings of the political scene because he should just focus on the works waiting for him in the Justice Department.
If Raul Gonzales would just focus his energy to improving the Judicial system in our land that would definitely
make a difference. But wat is he doing…? He is so busy watching the actions of the Oppositions… how come he
has the time to do it but he does not do anything to improve the system. What motivates him to be the PGMA’s watch dog?
MAYBE HE FEARS TO LOSE HIS POSITION AS DOJ SECRETARY THATS Y HE IS BUSY GUARDING THE ACTIONS OF THE OPPOSITION.

WHAT WE CAN DO IS WATCH FOR THE GOINGS AND THE HAPPENINGS IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS… WATCH WAT THE GOVERNMENT WILL DO TO THE
OPPOSITION… WATCH OUT AS THINGS UNRAVEL IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS…. BE CONCERN.. DONT JUST BE PASSIVE ABOUT IT.. MAKE UR STAND.
KAY SUSAN ROSES TAYO. :-)

i don’t think ms.arroyo is afraid of people power and being kicked out of office.

it happened to marcos. but hey, the marcos loot is still with them, bongbong and imee are still in power. imelda even had the chance to run for office, the presidency at that!… irene is still filthy rich (though symepre mayaman naman talaga yung asawa nya)… basta the point is wala naman sign of remorse.

The Great Pretender

Oh-oh, yes I’m the great pretender ( to the Presidency)
Pretending that I’m doing well ( as President)
My need is such I pretend too much ( na hindi ako nagsisinugaling)
I’m lonely but no one can tell (tumpak, alipores mo nalang ang natira)

Oh-oh, yes I’m the great pretender ( Good agree ako dyan!)
Adrift in a world of my own (naghallucinate ka na eh)
I’ve played the game but to my real shame ( nabuking ka kasi eh)
You’ve left me to grieve all alone ( kaya mag resign ka nalang)
Too real is this feeling of make-believe ( hanep ng mga lyrics mo tumpak na tumpak!)
Too real when I feel what my heart can’t conceal ( sabi nga ni susan roces, makita daw yan sa mata)

Yes I’m the great pretender ( olrayt!)
Just laughin’ and gay like a clown ( ha ha haha)
I seem to be what I’m not, you see ( ganun!)
I’m wearing my heart like a crown
Pretending that you’re still around
Too real is this feeling of make-believe
Too real when I feel what my heart can’t conceal

Yes I’m the great pretender
Just laughin’ and gay like a clown
I seem to be what I’m not, you see
I’m wearing my heart like a crown
Pretending that you’re still around ( FG Mike Arroyoooo!!!! ray kupooo)

I agree with the opinion that it is the greatest insult to the Filipino people that nobody is more eligible to replace the president and lead the country.
We always seem to attribute college degrees, status in society and political influence with the presidency when basically it is not. What I believe to be primal of these qualities are sincerity, honesty and integrity.

reading the blogs, i can’t find any favorable alternative for the pinoys than keeping still, thinking that everyone else cheated. without the business community’s support and the military perhaps, all movements are doomed to fail. maubos man boses nila kasisigaw sa kalsada, lalo lang silang magugutom.

To eliazar_dims :

My advance apologies if you may think I’m singling you out.

I cannot just let your post to pass innocently without giving it some five-cent worth of response.

You have posted this earlier : “Susan Roces as President? Oh my God! Sobrang malaking kahihiyan na talga ‘to. I’d rather have GMA. Besides, lahat naman yata nandaya. Mas matalino lang ang mga taga-opposition. Di sila nagpahuli… ”

My reaction:

I am just wondering where are you coming from when you openly showed your disgust over the theory of catapulting Susan Roces to Presidency. May I kindly hear the basis and details of your strong opposition against Ms. Roces? Parang synonymous to a bill of particulars po ba . If you consider this so, it will greatly help those undecided few.

When you openly declared your option to support GMA using a sweeping generalization that all politicians resorted to cheating, im again intrigued where are you getting these deductions and inferences.

Let me be clear on this, I’m not contracting your stand but for the same query as above, I would like to know if you have a basis to say so.

Thank you in advance po.

GMA’s admission of misdemeanor as evidenced by the wiretaped conversation with Garcilliano simply proves how unethical a candidate she was. We can can consider that she was exerting coercion or ordering Garcilliano to assure that she must have a wide margin over FPJ, by whatever means?… just the two of them knows that.
I don’t believe that Filipinos should forgive her and forget the said issue after asking apology. It is not in the constitution that a person be freed from punishment after apologizing. When a poor man commits robbery to feed his family and get caught, he goes to jail even if he asks for apology. Therefore, our leader should set an example. Those who commits crime or misconduct should face the consequences. Erap seems to have improved his intelligence 😉 he said GMA should not face impeachment since she is not the real winner [if she really cheated] and that only elected officials are impeached, oo nga naman. I believe that this issue should be taken to the COMELEC and not through impeachment process. There must be a complaint filed to the COMELEC. Once it will be proven that GMA is not the real winner, her presidency wil be declared null and void and wether we like it or not, Kabayan Noli will reap the victory. Thats how simple to solve the said issue.

i’m neither a poe nor an arroyo voter. i never liked both of them.
gma cheated, mrs. poe is mad and our economy is not doing good, if not, it is starting to get worse….tomorrow, july 1, is the implementation of the new VAT law….and the price of oil is still going up, up, up… what’s worse, THERE IS NO ONE FIT, CAPABLE AND HONEST TO LEAD OUR BELOVED PHILIPPINES!!!
so, i suggest, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH…our countrymen are sick and tired of POLITICS!!!
let’s get on with our lives, peacefully….nothing can be gained with too much ambition and politics…and a lot to lose!!!
to ms. poe…i admired you when you declined to push the election protest of your husband…but after last night, you’re just like any other politician, just like gma and all the congressmen…what are you trying to do??? YOU DO NOT PRESENT A BETTER ALTERNATIVE…so you want to be president? …you lost my respect.
and to my dear president with a mole…you are my president not by choice…if you are sincere for reforms, CLEAN THE GOVERNMENT OF GRAFT AND CORRUPTION…punish those who deserves to be punished, WITHOUT FEAR OR FAVOR!!! what we need at the moment is DISCIPLINE….then we’ll see how the filipino people will judge you or treat you after…this is your last chance..if you can’t do it, then there is no more reason for you not to step down….
to my dear countrymen, our president has committed a crime and violated the constitution, which are even grounds for impeachment…. she deserves to be punished, but not now….better gma than de castro (sorry legarda, it’s noli in the constitution) but let’s not be influenced by the events today…let us all think and pray real hard for our country, for our beloved philippines, the only country that we have.

Paghanga kay Apollo

Apollo ng mythikong Griyego
Hanga ako sa sinulat mo
Tuloy tuloy wala patid halos
Hindi humihinga sa pinagsamang
Damdamin mula sa puso at isip.

Di ka man makata tulad ni
Balagtas at Rizal, di ka man
Gumagamit ng rhymmo at metro
Naka bulatlat naman ang dangal
Na marahil minana sa magulang mo.

Sana makita mo rin di tulad
Ng bulag na marami na sa
Pagnanakaw at karangyaan
Lumaki. Di tulad ng driver
at tindera sa kalye na tanging
dangal at dignidad lang ang yaman.
Silang pilit at taas noong si FPJ ibinoto.

Sa tula sana nabanggit mo
Na sa lahat ng nakapila para
Pumalit kay Gloria, dalawa
Katangian lamang ang kailangan:
HINDI MAGNANAKAW, AT
HINDI TAKOT IPAKUILONG
ANG MGA NAGNANAKAW AT
LUMALABAG SA BATAS NG BAYAN.

Kaya magaling na Apollo
Bayan ay tulungan mo.
Isigaw at ipalaganap kahit
Dugo’y dumanak, ikulong
Ang sabi mong mga duwende at
Tikbalang leukemia ng bayan.

do you think now that susan roces has spoken that there is light at the end of the this tunnel? hahaha! ignorant fools! how quickly you forget your history. believe me, we should all look at the history of this country to see precedents and not just believe hook, line and sinker the myopic and self-serving views of some of our ‘laway’-politicians.

GMA MIGHT BE A PROBLEM, BUT SUSAN ROCES AND ALL THOSE “INSTANT PATRIOTS” SURROUNDING HER RIGHT NOW ARE NOT THE SOLUTION!!!!

let’s just say we do agree to throw the rule of law out the window and we let a junta led by the figurehead susan roces rule the motherland (an oxymoron at that- figurehead that leads?!) have you thought of what will happen? politics is another name for horsetrading, and if let’s say all those self-serving parties and groups manage to sit down and divide the spoils that is malacanan, what will we have? let me outline what methinks will happen:

– all individuals associated with gma are kicked out of government, including the good ones (or at least the working ones): boncodin, dinky, bf, juan santos, purisima, parayno, lina. too bad. (and don’t think that these people in the opposition will ever EVER agree to a unity government)

– 2 words: erap freed

– the old marcos-era politicans pretty much puked out by the country will be back, and they will be sitting on ms roces’ ( or whoever it is they call leader) shoulder whispering in her ear like the devil in those bugs bunny cartoons. think maceda, enrile, tatad…

– and here’s my bet for the junta cabinet secretaries:
justice – allan paguia
nbi – samuel ong
decs- rez cortez
spokesman- kit (allan k) tatad
agriculture- butch cadawan(?)
agri reform- eduardo cojuangco
trade & industry- satur ocampo
pagcor- teddy casino (casino kasi last name eh, hehehehe)
defense- ping lacson
dswd- anabelle rama
budget- lily monteverde

i’m not for gma, and justice will prevail, but get these bozos back in power, and i see a myanmar in our country’s future in less than a decade.

In your last post you said “regarding the non sense your talking about on cardinal sin…. start your research. you are already given a lead…i finished mine.”

So I went back to your post on Cardinal Sin and the only phrase I can find that might be a lead is:

“cardinal sin also invited imelda marcos for a night…. ask her…”

Are you then saying that Imelda Marcos told you that

1. Cardinal Sin invited her to have sex with him and
2. Cardinal Sin sired 60 children.

Even assuming the 1st is true, the 2nd does not necessarily follow. Unless you have concrete proof for the 2nd assertion, I think you should refrain from mentioning it again.

The issue is not about morality or expediency. The issue is about the viability of a political and economic system that is designed to create unsatiable power glut among cliques in the elite of Philippine society. A power glut wherein when the feeding starts. there are barely leftovers among us poor and powerless.

GMA is just a passing character in this power grab. Whether or not she finishes her full term, the next one in line will likely perform the same way as she did, if not subtler and more unobtrusive, but surely not less sinister. This is not a character flaw among politicians, this is what the “system” requires.

So when this brouhaha finally winds down to its final stages; whether or not we will have GMA, Noli, Drilon or Susan sitting in Malacanang, take a deep reality check. Ask yourself when the last street cleaner is sweeping the last confetti, what then?

Of course, someone will say let the future take care of itself. But GMA was the future of EDSA II. Cory, FVR and Erap was the future of EDSA I. Marcos was the future of 1969 re-election the subsequent promise of a Bagong Lipunan.

What then? Surely we are going to stupidly realize that we are still stuck in the same shit as before because we are undoubtedly running the queen’s race.

I say that let us not only change personalities, let us change the system!

To Dexterdpogi :

Blitzkrieg reaction lang po when you posted :

“THERE IS NO ONE FIT, CAPABLE AND HONEST TO LEAD OUR BELOVED PHILIPPINES!!!so, i suggest, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH…our countrymen are sick and tired of POLITICS!!!”

Hinay-hinay lang po sana in declaring sweepingly that “ THERE IS NO ONE FIT, CAPABLE, AND HONEST TO LEAD” us.

Para n’yo na rin pong sinabi na tayong Pinoy are not capable of running ourselves. I will give you a benefit of the doubt that you did not mean to insult our race.

O di kaya, kinapos lang ho kayo ng listahan ng mga lider Noypi;

You may ask again then who is fit?

Said person could be one of your parents, kapatid, kaibigan, ka-eskwela o ka-trabaho.

At bilang pang huli po, mali po na sabihin in general terms na “our countrymen are sick and tired of POLITICS!!!”.

BUT if you really mean “ our countrymen are sick and tired of GMA” then it’s loud and clear that we are of the same frequency level.

Let us change GMA and in the process purge the Government of fakes.

Salamat po.

It is people with attitudes like Xena that makes the country move backwards. Imagine she has even acquired the name of the warrior Princess which symbolizes strength. The problem in the country should be resolved and not allowed to continue and everyone knows the problem is Mrs. Gloria Arroyo. If after listening to the tape conversation between Garci and Gloria, Xena believes it was just a social call between two public servants then I can not blame Xena if she has that intelligence of that of a cat like the one we have in the house. Tobebs should try to be considerate with a person like Xena. If the Filipinos were that “Tanga” in choosing their Senators and Congressmen, I say now, they are not that “Tanga” in what Mrs. Gloria Arroyo want them to believe. Mrs. Arroyo wants everybody to accept as the “Gospel truth” whatever she says. Are you one of her believers?

I feel sorry for Mrs. Aquino. She said in 2001 it was right to violate the constitution and revolt. But now we must adhere to the constitution. This is just a pure smoke screen and double standard. She says conditions were different during 2001 and now. She should pray harder and look at what is morally right and just. She should also listen to the contents of the conversation. These should be the questions she should ask herself. Will I allow cheating to be part of Philippine electoral exercise. Will I allow intimidation of the people and there families to suppress the truth (Isn’t this what Ninoy said the Filipino is worth dying for and he showed he wasn’t intimidated). Will I allow the same cheating that Marcos did just because its not me who will be affected. Mrs. Aquino I will respond to your call for prayer. I pray that Ninoy Aquino will understand your actions in service of the Filipino. Have you fulfilled Ninoy’s statement that the Filipino is worth dying for.

Cruz. Si Bro Velarde, di kabilang diyan,
negosyo at raket na lang siya.

Tama si Kristo di dapat pagsamahin

Ibig sabihn, di dapat pagsamahin
ang relihiyon at pulitika. Parang
tubig at mantika, malansa at marumi.

Di ba ninyo napansin, nababoy na ng
relihiyon ang ating politika. At ang
politika naman kinakasangkapan

So now I dont care who the President is. Im going to watch them. I might not vote for Susan but if she wins so be it. But I will be watching. I dont believe anyone can do no wrong. And i dont believe Susan is above stealing and nepotism.

IT WAS THE most watched press conference in show business of late. In fact, it’s the only presscon involving an entertainment personality where attendees didn’t get envelopes. In regular press cons, showbiz scribes receive invitations, treated to a free lunch, and get paid. In return, they have to come up with write-ups, usually to promote a movie or a new tv show.

But yesterday’s press con was a bit different. It looked more like a shooting. An odd mix of attendees was present. There were legitimate journalists, opposition leaders, talent managers [what was Ethel Ramos, Aga Muhlach’s decomposing manager doing there?], a movie producer [Mother Lily’s nostrils are disturbing], and a director [Armida’s favorite son whose string of flops forced him to stop making movies]. Of course, the ubiquitous Rez Cortez was there to give moral support. And other antiquated stars of Cortez’ caliber and generation who emerged from obsolescence to fight for their so-called cause.

The cast was complete.

When the clock struck 12, the ‘bida’ surfaced and started to spew out fire. The heat was felt as far as Malacañang. Susan Roces was every inch a celebrity. But despite her emotional outburst yesterday, Ms Roces will forever be a “ham actress.” She may have been dubbed as Queen of Philippine Movies but the title was apparently given her ONLY by virtue of her (childless) marriage to the King. She was after all a lightweight when it comes to acting.

Without the aid of a script though, Roces was better and bitter. She mocked President Arroyo. She called her names: manhid, arogante, singungaling, magnanakaw and walang hiya. She accused her of robbing the presidency twice. She refused to accept her apology. She fell short of blaming the president for her husband’s death. And she won’t forgive her.

And how the press enjoyed Ms Roces! And how she enjoyed them. She was cheered, and she didn’t disappoint. For the press, every statement was a soundbyte.

After her “show,” the opposition praised Susan Roces for her “courage.” Lacson now says he’d support Roces and will forgo his political ambitions if only to unite the opposition. A showbiz writer opined that it’s only Roces who could fight President Arroyo. Some compared her to Former President Cory Aquino. Susan Roces, they say, will liberate us from the anathema that is the Arroyo presidency.

To all these, I say: Helllllllllllllller! Ok lang kayo?

Thank God for FPJ’s loss! Who knows? Had he won, we could have had the worst first lady ever. Remember: beauty is prerequisite to evil. Think Imelda.

We are mired in a serious political, economic and moral crisis. And all you can offer is Susan Roces?

We have a severely damaged presidency. And all you can offer is Susan Roces?

We have a corrupt Senate. And all you can offer is Susan Roces?

We have a crooked Lower House. And all you can offer is Susan Roces?

Think.

It was indeed a different Susan Roces who appeared before us yesterday. For the opposition, it was encouraging. I would say it was alarming. The apparent craving for power is gradually corrupting her.

The power grabbers have seen an opportunity. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Loi,

Isang tao lng si Susan, if you’re going to ask her to fill in the shoes of a severely damaged presidency, a corrupt senate and a crooked lower house ika mo nga, nde kya she needs a lot of feet to do that?

What the lady did was voice out the sentiments of common people who have judged for themselves na nadaya sila of their basic and most sacred right to vote. Nobody is pushing for Ms. Roces to lead us, but personality-wise, I’d go for anybody else for the presidency except a liar and a cheat.

You think.

Maraming tao d2 sa Pilipinas who can be more qualified to lead. Basta moral at nde mandadaya… Malay mo ikaw p yun.

muaddib,

I totally agree with you. This “nobody else is better” line is but another lie being peddled as the gospel truth to the nation. I pity the mentally challenged among us who have embraced it as such. Is this a result of blind loyalty, economic interest, or perhaps of some serious comprehension problem? Why can’t these individuals choose to see beyond the lies?

A counterpoint to loi…

IT WAS THE the most watched half-ass, all-lies apology broadcasted in the archipelago. In fact, it’s the only presidential broadcast that was highly anticipated by everyone for 21 days since the tapes were discovered. In regular presidential coverage involving the esteemed office there would be no casual leaks nor precursors to drum up the biggest drama in history, after all everything was deemed proper journalistic business. And after the drama we saw, most of the administration camp allies and “entertainment” personalities have to come up with write-ups and mini-interviews purporting to promote or give support to the presidential show.

did anyone believe her performance? I DONT THINK SO..

But that presidential broadcast was unique. It looked more like a drama movie shoot. An odd mix of viewers were present and glued to their screens. Everyone was watching. Not only the masa, the oligarchs, the elitist and the academe, the pro-tradpols and the oppositions were all in hand to watch. while behind the broadcast was foremost director l.kashiwahara and a very good production crew. while her PR and public image firms were wisphering and hoping that they can send out a good product and that their star for the night would be able to deliver….

The casting & production was the best there was. No limitations capped the budget… this must be perfect to a “t”.

When the clock struck 7, the ‘Ipokrita’ surfaced and started to spew out lies. The lies covered the airwaves and was seen & heard as far as local tv , sattelite & radio broadcast could cover the whole archipelago. Arroyo was every inch the biggest drama-fart celebrity. But despite her emotional outpour, Ms. Arroyo will forever be called a “sham president.” She has been dubbed by some as Queen of Philippine Thievery and Corruption but the title was apparently given her by some people ONLY by virtue of her being a woman and could not be called the King which was reserved for the first gentleman. No one believed her apology [aside form known allies and alalays]. She was after all the biggest lightweight when it comes to acting.

Without the aid of a proper and well thought out script though, Arroyo came out as a trying hard actress. As hard as Kashiwahara’s group tried to humanize her they couldn’t still make her cry crocodile tears. For how could one who has mocked the people’s will by stealing the presidency do so? For someone who’s been called names: manhid, arogante, singungaling, magnanakaw and walang hiya… crying is not an option. The so called apology she gave was full of holes and lies – it did not exactly coincide with her other statements before mocking people to make a rally on manila day and daring people by saying – so what? The apology can not of course just be accepted. For whoever heard of an apology without proper restitution.maybe in later years, people would forgive her but they won’t forget that she’s the one to be blamed for the true death of philippine democracy. besides people have branded here speech – “Kapal ng Apoglogy”.

And how her allies enjoyed Ms Arroyo’s show! And how she enjoyed and relish the moment after the camera stopped. She cheered and hoped “makaisha shana tayo uli sha mga tao”. nothing there left for us plain folks to get disappointed.Every statement made in the apology was a soundbyte that rang like “hello garci”.

After her “show,” the allied tongressman and trapos praised Arroyo for her “courage to admit her mistake”. Lacson however kept saying “now that she authenticated the tapes. she has only one thing to do, that is to vacate”. says some of her allies “the christian thing to do is to let her continue to govern us”. Some political analyst and some business leaders spewed out opinions that Arroyo not resign or the philippines will find herself hacked into different states [ie state of ilocos & cebu] states. Some compared her to Former President Clinton. Arroyo they say can be forgiven totally in view of the dire thought of having a De Castro led government.

To all these, I say: UKINAMSHIT – buhay ka pa??

Thank God for the palace’s stupidity of providing us damning evidence thru mr.Bunye… Who else would have known about this can of fucking worms? Had she not been wiretapped we would have dealt with her family’s greed & the jueteng issue for now. we should never have had this worst family as the 1st family ever. Remember: law of karma says what goes around comes around. Think Erap being ousted. now its her turn.

We are mired in a serious political, economic and moral crisis. And all Arroyo offer’s is to continue her governance without a mandate? whatelse are they hiding that’s causing to try and continue to hold on to power?

We have a severely damaged presidency. And all Arroyo can offer is a halfbaked apology and not a resignation?

We have a corrupt Senate and a crooked Lower House. And her allies are promptly wheeling and dealing to block any opposition move to impeach her. And all they can afterwards offer is the word “NOTED”?

Think.

It was indeed a different Gloria Macapagal Arroyo who appeared before us with a stupid half-ass apology. For the party members of the administration, it was encouraging. “makaka-isa na naman tayo. happy days are back again”. This is alarming. The apparent loss of delicadeza has totally corrupted her and her cohorts.

The powers-that-be have seen an opportunity to continue corruption in all the high places. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

3.) Hayaan natin ang PET na magdecide between the two top vicepresidentiables last election…

So Cory finally decided to join the fracas. Well, if the Philippine movie industry is suffering a deep slump, the political scene surely does fill up for the entertainment. What can we say, the actors are the first ones to intrude. The politicians are just returning the favor by staging their version of political telenovela.

The Cory presscon is a calculated move to dampen the sympathy generated by a fuming Susan Roces. A sort of a tit fot tat. The opposition should now bring in Imelda Marcos with a line that goes: “if Cory is really a stickler to the rules, then we should strike her out from the history books as the president who succeeded my Andy and insert Turing Tolentino instead.”

But then who cares for the rules, who cares for the constitution? If my memory serves me right, the constitution was passed by the slimmest of margins. A lot of Filipinos back then have misgivings about the legalese of a Magna Carta which will only be used as a subterfuge for elite interests. And they are correct, as history proved. That is why we have Edsa Dos, with the interpretation of the Constitution skewed to the point of absurdity if ever Erap did really vacate the Presidency. The Filipinos didn’t like Erap’s managing of the government, they tried to oust him by constitutional means, there was a zarzuela which featured a lot of legal luminaries, in the end everything were settled in the streets.

Lawyers and politicians are the true actors. At least professional actors know that what they say are make believe; lawyers and politicians, on the other hand, fervently believe in what they say.

The first order of business is for Mrs. Arroyo to resign after having owned up to a crime. Whoever takes her place is not the point; there are laws on succession

But what must be done next — within the next 2 weeks or so — is to resolve Mrs. Legarda-Leviste’s protest about electoral fraud. If a recount of actual precinct votes — including the “NOTED” ones — proves Mr. de Castro to have won his position fair and square, we must accept that. We deserve the leaders we voted for; GMA chose him for her running mate (dahil malakas daw humatak ng boto, diba?), who are we to say he doesn’t deserve to lead us? Now, if the result of Mrs. Legarda-Leviste’s protest is in her favor, we also must live with that.

Does anybody else think we Filipinos have the guts to do this? Assuming of course that Mrs. Macapagal-Arroyo has the guts — and the honor that her “Macapagal” name brings — to resign first.

FYI.

LUCENA CITY — Self-exiled communist founder Jose Maria Sison said former president Corazon Aquino had no moral right to advise Fernando Poe Jr.’s widow to follow the rule of law in her pursuit for justice.

“It is immoral for Corazon Aquino and others to condone the crimes of Gloria Arroyo and help keep her in power. Aquino is the least qualified to advice Susan Roces on the rule of law,” Sison said in an e-mailed statement.

Sison noted that Aquino neither filed an electoral protest to legally prove that former president Ferdinand Marcos cheated her in the 1986 snap election nor did she undertake impeachment proceedings against Marcos.
“She became president in 1986 through the successful democratic mass actions of the sovereign Filipino people who ousted Marcos from power,” said Sison.

Well we will see. If she is removed and replaced by either erap’s council, lacson, abat’s junta or susan then there will be another series of protests by the people who will lose the most.

Do we see a consensus forming among the leftists, the powerful personalities in our society, the different interest groups how to to move on? None!

I dont think its happening with the opposition. What will be the ;eftists demands? abolish PMA? condone debts? condemn the US? nationalise the oil industry? these are all hard to swallow right? it gets better. remove all western influences in our mentality. no jeans no levis no english no computers!

i wonder why the npa likes to use the m16 when they can easily manufacture the ak-74 the assault rifle of the proletariat masses! oh they dont have an economy. not even a cute little central planned economy. no wonder our chinese communist brothers are not impressed.

lets consider abat. he wants the military to have a stronger influence. whats are his policies? cleanse government? thats a little vague. i have no clue what he means. that means determine who the corrupt officials are. how will he do that? wiretap everybody maybe. or maybe just find out who are not related to him by blood up to the nth degree. or maybe ask lacson what he knows. i just dont see how. he has more explaining to do.

eraps demands? thats easy. send all the commy bastards who kicked marcos to jail. and discredit ninoy. all i see is revenge.

Lacson? well staus quo. Wait, he said cleanse government of corruption and more jobs for everybody. Of course he knows who the corrupt people are. He wiretapped all of them when he was working for Erap. I wonder why he does not expose them all. He just keeps it to himself. Selfish bastard! I thought wiretapping is for the common good. More jobs? I wonder what he is talking about. Well everybody has been talking about giving everybody jobs. If we ask them what they mean, they just say “you know just give everybody jobs!”. or it could be, “we put all the corrupt people in jail”. you see the connection? I dont.

in the first place i dont know what he is talking about. in the second place its not enough to put all the corrupt people in jail. in the third place i dont know what he is talking about in the first place. Oh dear!

Why PGMA did not identify the Comelec official she had phone conversations with? If my memory is correct, Commissioner Garcillano was assigned to the Bicol region. If the purpose of the calls was to protect her votes, then she should be talking with Commission Garcillano about her votes in the Bicol region and not in Mindanao. Mindanao regions were then under Chairman Abalos.

I would like to request PCIJ to dig into this issue further. Thank you.

ang consitution ang batayan. we voted for it to take effect. it provides for situations of vacancy. let’s follow what it provides.

nothing against Brother Ed Villanueva… i am very proud of him for spreading the WORDS of GOD. i know he is qulified to rule a country and very much educated but when he accepted Jesus Christ to be his savior and he promised to serve Him by doing ministry and fellowship to people. entering the politics will not contribute anything with his missions in spreading the WORD of GOD.

Im not pro-GMA nor anti-GMA–is just that this country is going down the drain. Why can’t you guys join forces together to make your country a better one. Oppositions are hungry for power and trying to destabilized the gov’t. Ms Roces’ statement shows the irreconcilable differences in the “united opposition”. She said GMA stole the Presidency twice.

Hehe im sure that pisses off the leftists because they wanted Erap out. And they dont want him back. And they hate the Erap supporters like the very devil himself and they will ‘purge’ them all when Gloria is removed.

Beware of the leftists. they believe that the internal enemy is more dangerous than the external enemy. And tactical allies are expendable instruments. The leftists are more sophisticated Then the other opposition groups. They have an heirarchy that is strict and they enforce obedience harshly. I dont think you want to be associated with them. The pretension of “united opposition” is so obvious its painful to the ears.

Ms Roces just dont get it. She needs to make compromises but it shows that she cant.

Erap didn’t cheat the 1998 elections FYI. He was ousted unconstitutionally. Now that the table has turned against them, they want to pursue due process in terms of impeachment so they can ‘cheat’ again the senator’s voting. She cannot lead our country anymore because her relatives and cabinet members are also suspect of corruption.

Even though she removed her relatives and changed her cabinets from their positions, it doens’t matter anymore. She knew before that her cabinets are suspect of corruptions but what did she do? nothing. Now that the pressure is in her because of the controversy, she is making ‘drastic changes’ to rebuilt the trust of the nation. sheesh what a hypocrit. After a year or two, what do you think she and her relatives will do? of course back to family business again.

Not even that, this is the nation that full of kidnappers (imagine, even an ex govt official is one of them), drugs, rapist etc are rampant. I think filipinno people should really start joining forces together to re-build this country b/c once again, this is a country that has so many potentials to prosper b/c your 2nd language is English, and not only that a lot of filipino that I know are intelligent; however, some are ashamed to be filipinos b/c one thing I’ve noticed that filipinnos seems not to know their own identity. they;re confused on whether they’re Westerners/European or filipino… Another thing, It is easy for you guys to point fingers or blame on your gov’t when your country is worsening, but does it occur to you that filipinno people also have responsibilities too. Hell ur just part of a long line of failures we call presidents who put us here in the first place.. bad enuf that it took u the remainder or eraps term and one more year after you were elected to realize that u have to buckle down and really seriously take your work to heart.. in all those years u were in power.. what have u done ms arroyo.. pay lip service to the church and other sects, to the law buddies of your husband, to party mates who helped u get into power in the first place, to the corrupt military.. to bitch around acting as if your the only intelligent person in the philippines (well far from it).. and most importantly to waste all our hard earned money to make the world’s most expensive highway among other things.. i say enough is enough na.. youve been given a chance already and have been found lacking and wanting.. now u may have all the support of the AFP NBI etc etc.. but they are like u ms arroyo are corrupt to the bone. Now probably in your circle of groups or people its ok to lie (basta u have to ask for forgiveness) its ok to cheat (basta wag ka lang pahuli) its ok to steal (basta u have the so called righteous church, tita cory, an unlawful supreme court justice, and those owners from glorieta behind you. but what about the people i ask??? that dear president its what seperates u from susan roces. she talks bout the people from the heart. her husband died coz he believed that things have to change hopefully for the better. death as oppose to a vacation in hong kong for mr arroyo.. hmmm no contest d b???

By Arlan B. Laroya

Protektahan saan at kanino?

Reynaldo Wiwicoco?

Balimbing na katulad ni Mr. Noted Pangilinan at Mr. We Love You Here in IloIlo Drilon.

So? sabi ni Joker, sagot ni Teddy Boy: Binay threatens people! Joker: Basta don’t allow them to play the tape!
Akala yata ni Joker, Executive Secretary or Little President pa siya!?

Sheila, I listened to the audio files of Ms. Susan Roces’ June 29 speech just a while ago and I noticed several choppy points and sound distortions especially in the 1st mp3 file. I think these were brought about by some errors in burning and/or recording.

Could you guys please upload a better quality file of Susan’s speech for the benefit of those who were unable to watch it live on TV? By the way, a video/mpeg file would be even more helpful.

Thanks!

PS – I also noticed the same audio problems with the “Lacson Tapes” of Gloria’s “Hello Garci” conversations.
