“Hawks” and “doves”
PRESIDENT Arroyo’s unexpected announcement on Monday night came after 12 of her Cabinet members persuaded her to break her silence on the controversial phone conversations she had with former Elections Commissioner Virgilio Garcillano after last year’s elections.
The Cabinet secretaries hinted to the President that they would quit their posts if she did not speak up, sources in the Arroyo administration said. The sources requested anonymity.
In a meeting with the President at the Palace last Saturday, the 12 Cabinet members also offered her the following pieces of advice:
- Make her husband, Jose Miguel "Mike" Arroyo, "disappear";
- Remove the First Gentleman’s "alagad" (followers) from certain government agencies like the Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corp.; and
- Order presidential son, Pampanga Rep. Juan Miguel "Mikey" Arroyo, and presidential brother-in-law, Negros Occidental Rep. Ignacio Arroyo "Iggy" Arroyo to take a leave from the House of Representatives until the end of the year.
Jueteng whistleblowers have identified the three Arroyo men as having received payoffs from the illegal numbers game.
The 12 government officials resorted to the measure after reaching an impasse with hardline colleagues in the Cabinet who did not want the President to admit that it was she on the taped conversations with Garcillano.
One source said they also perceived that the President, who was then stonewalling about the tapes, "was more inclined to side with the hawks than the doves."
The 12 Cabinet members who urged the President to talk were Budget Secretary Emilia Boncodin, Social Welfare Secretary Dinky Soliman, Labor Secretary Patricia Sto.Tomas, Science Secretary Estrella Alabastro, Presidential Peace Adviser Teresita "Ging" Deles, Trade Secretary Juan Santos, Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, Secretary for Government Mass Media Cerge Remonde, Education Secretary Florencio Abad, Defense Secretary Avelino Cruz, Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla and Communications Director Silvestre Afable.
Among the hardliners in the Cabinet, who insisted that the President should not admit to anything, were Interior and Local Government Secretary Angelo Reyes, Public Works Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane, Transportation Secretary Leandro Mendoza, Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, Justice Secretary Raul Gonzales, Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Merceditas Gutierrez, Presidential Management Staff Chief Rigoberto Tiglao and Environment Secretary Michael Defensor, according to sources.
Afable reportedly helped write the statement the President read Monday night admitting to her "lapse in judgment" when she called the then elections commissioners supposedly to "protect her vote" in last year’s elections.
During Saturday’s meeting, the President committed herself to act on the 12 Cabinet members’ “advice” regarding the Arroyo men, but made no mention of them in her statement last Monday night.
Monday, June 27, was the birthday of the First Gentleman. "That’s why she didn’t have the heart to address the issue," a close aide of one Cabinet member said.
Through all of these, meanwhile, Vice President Noli de Castro was kept in the dark. "He’s isolated and being treated as an outsider," said one of his advisers.
De Castro was never consulted or briefed during the crisis. Instead, he was merely asked to show up at Malacanang a couple of hours before the presidential announcement and given a statement to read, which the vice president dutifully did.

Noli de Castro should put an end to this unkind treatment that he is currently receiving from Malacanang.
Given the fact that any man would ordinarily assert that he be treated fair and square in his dealings, much more to a Vice President, who has the given right to be apprised of the current political imbroglio.
Unless he is part of the grand election-cheating scheme, it is about time to draw the line for him between what is both legally and morally correct and a mere lapse of judgment.

First of all my kudos to those cabinet officials who urged the president to speak up regarding the tapes. I guess in a way its a sign that all is not lost for our country. That there are still instances were morality and or logic do randomly strikes people in the cabinet, neurons at work it seems. As for those who objected to her coming out statement. Tsk tsk ..Shame on you all! Withholding and suppressing the truth is comparable to participating in it. And it seems that most of the president’s men including the senators and congressmen are guilty of it. After all ” Birds of the same feather do flock together”. Loyalty to country should be above everything else and no one person should be above it. Explains a lot why we as a country never progress. Too many vested interests involved. Too much greed up for grabs. The politicians are most certainly guilty of it (remember the IPP of tabako?? the most expensive highway etc etc), The Church is guilty of it (rampant population growth to such a degree that parents who cant even feed their children are urged not to do contraception to prevent further hardships to the family structure, dont think anyone will challenge us anytime soon as asia’s biggest catholic country thank you), Big business is guilty of it (supporting the coup of erap and supporting gma, where is the due process then?).The Media fans the flames of intrigue also (short attention span people!!, only interested in the now news.. once article does’nt sell airtime anymore. its dropped just like that). But most of all we are guilty of it! Hell we voted them into office in the first place, we kept mum on the things they do and the offenses they commit, worse… some of us even participated. So all of this boils down to whose guilty. I Declare. We Are! We deserved gloria and all her shortcomings. Coz we voted for her … we voted for all the dirty politicians whom she calls friends/kompadres. We stand idly by as she wastes billions of our money (with the most expensive highway to show for it among other things) and then has the gall to tells us to tighten our belts even more so we can give her corrupt government even more cash to squander!! We let our politicians kill off our jobs at home making us leave the country to look for jobs elsewhere usually putting ourselves in harms way just to be able to send the dollars to prop up our sorry economy. We let in a president so indebted to the church and to other movements out there to tell us how we should live our lives, make and raise our family, raise our children (or how not to raise our children). So i guess it is’nt hard to figure out why we have a runaway population, lot of beggars in the streets, even more criminals both in the streets and in the house of congress and senate and most of all a bogus cheating president! We’re all guilty people… So what are we goin to do about it????

doves and hawks. that’s an interesting way to classify our leaders. maybe it should be our de facto 2-party political system. let’s identify all the doves and the hawks in government…
one more thing… learning from this experience, we should amend the wiretapping law. Presidential Wiretapping should be made a Standard Operating Procedure under an independent presidential wiretapping commission. that’s good use for our tax money.

kawawa naman pala si Erap noon. Puro kasi Hawks ang naka paligid sa kanya dahil nag resign agad mga Doves, hindi tuloy naturuan mag sorry na lang. The lesson in the story is… surround yourself with doves always….And make presidential wiretapping legal and mandatory!

What is now in question is no longer GMA’s ability to govern but her basic honesty and integrity. Are we so lacking in leaders that we have to settle for GMA? The Pidal Account actually came from the deal that GMA made when she was persuaded to just run for Vice-President instead of running against ERAP. She was very quiet during the early part of ERAP’s presidency but when she saw the opportunity to became the President, she took it wholeheartedly. She also said she will no longer run for the Presidency. As we all know she lied.How much of the government funds did she emptied and how much cheating did she ordered just to get “elected”? If GMA truly want what is best for the country, she should already announce her resignation to take place after an honest to goodness snap election is carried out say in 6 months, for the the soon to be vacated Presidency, ; otherwise, she may be forced to go on “exile” sooner than later.

For the last several weeks, the issue of the tape recordings has spun out of control [Thanks but no thanks to Toteng Bunye’s blunder. I have advised him to find a new job]. Tonight, I want to set the record straight [My cabinet forced me to]. You deserve an explanation from me, [As if you care!] because you are the people I was elected to serve [As if I had a choice].
As you recall, [Of course you do!] the election canvassing process was unnecessarily slow [I was partly to blame! Didn’t you hear the tape? I asked Garci if they could delay the Senatorial canvassing!] even after the election results were already in and the votes had been counted.
I was anxious to protect my votes [But I was more eager to make sure I’d win by I million] and during that time had conversations [Not with Boy Abunda, my ardent supporter] with many people, including a Comelec official [Whom I refuse to identify because the mere mention of his name sends me shivers.] My intent was not to influence the outcome of the election [I already knew the results you idiots], and it did not. As I mentioned, the election had already been decided [With the help of my allies in Congress] and the votes counted. And as you remember, the outcome had been predicted by every major public opinion poll and adjudged free, fair and decisive by international election observers, and our own Namfrel [Whose officers including Bill Luz of the Makati Business Club and RFM’s Joe Concepcion donated a hefty amount to my campaign chest].
That said, let me tell you how I personally feel. I recognize that making any such call was a lapse in judgment [And since I had to call Garci several times during the election period, I would consider that “lapses in judgment!”]. I’m sorry [It is SO against my lofty pride but I should say so.] I also regret taking so long to speak before you on this matter [I had to consult my lead counsel, former Supreme Court Justice Jose Vitug.] I take full responsibility for my actions [If I could only put the blame on Noli De Castro] and to you and to all those good citizens who may have had their faith shaken by these events. I want to assure you that I have redoubled my efforts [Believe me! I have been urging Mikey and Iggy to resign from Congress] to serve the nation and earn your trust.

Maliwanag na may kakulangan sa wastong pagpapasya ang nangyaring pagtawag sa telepono [Sana, nag-text na lang ako.] Pinagsisisihan ko ito nang lubos [I can’t believe I am saying this]. Pinananagutan ko nang lubusan ang aking mga ginawa, at humihingi ako ng tawad sa inyo [Ang ‘di magpatawad, pangit!], sa lahat ng mga butihing mamamayan na nabawasan ng tiwala dahil sa mga pangyayaring ito. Ibig kong tiyakin sa inyo na lalo pa akong magsisikap upang maglingkod sa bayan at matamo ang inyong tiwala.
I took office with a mandate [Albeit a questionable one] to carry out a plan for the nation. Since that time, I have focused on making the tough but necessary decisions [Like canceling the showing of Mikey’s latest movie Sablay na, Pasaway pa!] to make up for years of economic neglect. We passed a comprehensive, fiscally responsible national budget; raised new and necessary revenues [Otherwise known as VAT which you have to pay] to reinvest in the people; and implemented new anticorruption measures that have led to the highest collection of taxes in history [At the expense of my favorite celebrities like Regine Velasquez, Judy Ann Santos and Richard Gomez] .
Nothing should stand in the way of this work [Not Sammy Ong. Not Sandra Cam. Not even an aging archbishop who is battling Alzheimer’s disease], or the next phase of my reform agenda, which includes new investments in education and social services with our new revenues; and an expansion of our successful anticorruption and lifestyle checks.
That is why I want to close this chapter [Forget about impeachment. You don’t have the numbers] and move on with the business of governing.
I ask each and every one of you [Meaning, both the Kapuso and Kapamilya viewers] to join hands with me in a show of unity [We will do this at the Luneta Grandstand], to help forge One Philippines, where everyone is equal under the law [Perhaps with the exception of my husband, my son and my brother-in-law] and where everyone has the opportunity to use their God-given talents [Kaya nga may Starstruck at Star Circle Quest] to make a better life.

Tired of guessing game. GMA is either guilty or not guilty. She will do what she will do. Question is what will we as citizens do? I say, impeach her already. After all that’s what we have the impeachment process for: to remove a president who has lost our confidence.
The flipside of it is we have to live with the outcome of the process no matter what. But that is what is needed. We’ve got to invest our public institutions with our faith if they are to work for us. The alternative is to go the streets every time.

they said that GMA’s apology is good enough if only to save the government and our economy from falling down.
in the question of letting a “crime” just go unpunished they countered ‘who would replace the president? Noli? Erap? Jinggoy?’
on the question of snap elections. “can we afford it? we cant afford it! our country is very poor we cannot afford it! besides there are no candidates available to replace the president.”
on the question of GMA’s cheating in the elections. “both parties cheated! even FPJ cheated in the elections also how can we be sure that the next election will not be rigged?”
honestly i dont know how to answer them.
i can only surmise a history being read by our children learning on how criminals being in the form of a president get away or else tolerated because of baseless fears. i hope they never scorn our generation for having been less intrepid in the face of a great challenge, that being the opportunity to change a government and to let a criminal be put to justice, us being the victim.
people say that i am too idealistic that im missing what reality really is. how reality is supposed to work here and now.
its true i am too idealistic, but i believe when filipinos loose their idealism and stop themselves in striving to create a better future on their own then they’d be more than criminals they’d be worse than animals and they truly deserve their condition.
i remember when my mentor told me these hurtful words.
“our generation failed your generation”
i was in High School then but i saw in his eyes the disgust, the pain & the shame of how the stigma would haunt him for the rest of his life.

The office of the President of the Philippines is considered as the highest office of the land not only because it oversees everything in this so called archipelago of ours, it is considered as such because it carries the aspirations, the ideals, the embodiment of the Filipinos… as such it bears to one that holds the said office to bear the burden of representing all that the Filipinos stands for….
what we have right now is a farce, a misrepresentation of the ideals that we hold dear.
we have someone impersonating the President of the Philippines in the office right now.
and this same person is brazenly saying that she still has a mandate while apologizing to all the Filipinos that were disenfranchized thru her dagdag-bawas machinations during the last elections….

Now that she admitted that she did talk with a commissioner which she did not name, is it possible that the she did that in purpose because she talked with the other commissioners as well to protect her votes?
Why is no one talking about Bunye’s 2nd tape? Was that an attempt by Malacanang to cover up the real Gloria tape? They should authenticate the male’s voice on that tape and ask him to explain.

walang budget for special elections. di pa nga nababayaran yung ninakaw at inutang last election eh. kung bayad na yon at wala nang atraso, then makapagreresign si gma immediately. walang utang eh… kaya pang lagaan ang honor nya.

Whew! Gloria’s cabinet are still on the denial mode. Pakapalan talaga. They should realized by now that everything’s lost. No amount of advice, hawk’s or dove’s even, will save Gloria from sinking. You can’t fight karma.
On the other hand, Noli had a chance in the last few weeks to prove that his ‘Kabayan’ tag was genuine. Sadly, just like the other boneless cabinet members, he chose to tag along the skirt of Gloria instead of asserting his ‘independence’.

Foreseeing final scenario:
1. Samuel Ong, the one who reveal to the whole nation of the vote cheating of our president, will be jailed because of exposing and holding a wiretap material.
2. GMA will be forgiven by Churches, Business Communities, her cabinets & administration, NGOs and civil society. She will show full penance by leaving some of her relatives in their current post for 1 year. And some drastic decision and radical change will be seen in her governance to show her sincerity of her speech.
3. After a year or two, when the issues eventually died down and people will lose interest in the said issue, her relatives will come back and ‘family business’ will be back to operate again. Her promises will be broken again.

Whether we brand the cabinet members either as hawks or doves, that’s still irrelevant to the primordial issue at hand.
Filipinos are not stupid to know that the members of the GMA’s cabinet, are the alter ego of the President . And never forget Thomas Jefferson’s description of them as “should be of President’s bosom confidence”
Their relevancy will only come in fullview in the spirit of true statemanship, if one by one they will opt to tender their resignation.
Only then we will know who’s the truest dove and hawk among them.

With Deans Valdes and Agabin delivering their expert legal opinions that the tapes can be played because public interest prevails over the private nature of such recently in congress it is now very evident that DOJSec. Gonzales was apointed DOJSec. just because of a POLITICAL DEBT. Wala naman pala alam sa batas itong DOJSec. natin. Kaya naman pala sinabi nya na he cannot give his legal opinion on it.

It is very sad to know that some lawyers turn a blind eye to the truth particularly those antagonistic lawyer-representatives, lawyer-spokeperson and lawyer-political affirs secretary.
They need to be reminded pa by Fr. Bernas in his Inquirer Column, and the appearances of Deans Agabin and Valdes at the HOR that Congress, in deed, has the plenary power of hearing those tapes in aid of legislation.
A mentor once said that when a person of dubious character is accepted to the profession, the first thing that he let- go of —is his LEGAL ETHICS.

Nagbubulagbulagan lang yan si Gonzales. Pag ang member ng opposition ang na-wire tap, I bet sasabihin niya na ok lang i-play ang wiretap. Obvious naman kung sino sino yung mga nagtatanga-tangahan lang sa issue at kunwari dine-defend yung batas pero sariling interest lang ang pino-protektahan.
Buti pa si Goles, nagstand sa kanyang pahayag na magresign na si Arroyo nung lumabas ang tape. Nagresign na siya as member of KAMPI para di contradictory ang stand niya. Pero baka naman nagbibidabidahan lang siya para next elections. The Issue of Corruption
I can tell you, and am telling you, that I have always been and will be very firmly against corruption, and will immediately dismiss anyone in my cabinet with any taint of it, as soon as I hear of it and prove it to be true. But, however firm I will be, my firmness in dealing with corruption should not be the only solution to a complex historical problem. Corruption is a disease endemic to any society which does not give a chance to major sections of its population to acquire wealth legitimately, even as a limited section of its population does so illegitimately.
There was no corruption in Filipino tribal society before the Spaniards came because the land was extremely fertile and capable of feeding, clothing and sheltering the 60-100 families who were part of the tribe. Land was, besides, communally owned, and leadership in the tribe was not inherited, but determined by consensus, according to capability. Though there were already aliping sagigilid and aliping namamahay at that time, these were not alipin in the European or American sense of slave, because their datus and babaylans also worked the land and ate on the same table with them. In fact, most of these alipin were related by blood to the rest of the tribe, having earned the distinction either through incapacity or misdemeanor.
When the Spaniards gathered datu families from several tribes and placed them in the pueblos or town centers, thereby alienating them from their own people in the peripheries and creating multiple class differences between them, corruption started. The datus, in order to keep up with their well-dressed, elegantly-housed and finely-furnished Spanish superiors, had to find ways of milking the fees paid by the people.
These class differences were further exacerbated when the Americans created cities, and in them a service-oriented middle class. The masses thereby became alienated not only from their landlords, but from the educated servants of their landlords. The educated middle class became a buffer class that served to hide, for some decades, the money-making schemes, at government expense, of topmost government officials.
These money-making schemes were finally laid bare during the period of martial law, both through its blatant practice by a whole new class of cronies and the exposure of it by activists. When democracy was restored in 1986 through the EDSA revolt, the practice of milking the government was already so widespread that corruption was also democratized. After all, the ordinary government worker said, if they can do it, why can’t I?
Our society degenerated a step further when narco-politics and kidnapping for ransom came into the picture, showing the underprivileged and oppressed even worse ways of making money, at the expense of their own kind. In a very bad fashion, these twin evils became mass movements before the legitimate mass movements could gain headway. Today, corruption has spread throughout our society, from top to bottom, whether in government, the military, the police, mass media, business, or among the urban poor, threatening to wreck the very core of our national soul.
That is why our solution must also take a top-to-bottom approach. It is not enough, though it is necessary, to elect a strong person with moral ascendancy as top executive of the land. But it is not enough either, though again it is necessary, to rouse the masses to active moral transformation.
We must cook our bibingka from the top and from the bottom, at the same time-to quote a former president.
Let me add to that-we must cook our bibingka right through the middle, even if traditionally we have not yet done so-even if, in fact, we have not cooked our bibingka at all. Again, I could declare heroically that I will break up the oligarchy that has been feeding on government coffers for the longest time. And I can, to a certain extent.
But again, the solution is not as simple as that. The habit of feeding on the public coffers from generation to generation comes out of the habit of our economic and political elite, developed through centuries of colonial rule, of feeding on the fat of the land without working. In other words, the habit of elite families issues from the eating end of the same ideology that bogs down the greater part of the population. They think it is their privilege to extract wealth from their sakop, whether directly through the fat of the land, or indirectly through the fat of public funds. They have not learned that wealth, or more particularly, profit, is produced by expending labor on available raw materials. That is why, no matter how bravely anyone declares that he or she will break up the oligarchy, nothing happens. The oligarchy remains. It is the ideology of idleness that we must battle, not just the people who carry it in their minds.
In other words, the oligarchy too must be taught to produce wealth for the nation, instead of wasting away their legitimately or illegitimately-acquired legacy on politics.
This, even as I mete them their due with a firm and decisive hand. Having set my general policies, let me restate some particulars with regard to curbing corruption, as found in the Bangon Pilipinas platform: Aside from pruning the government bureaucracy of its undue excess, I will see to it that government workers-including teachers, judges and justices, the military and the police force-are given commensurate salaries, benefits, privileges, and honors, so that they may forget the old tricks they have used to survive. However, since no salary may ever be enough to satisfy ingrained greed, I will institute, in cooperation with the business sector and non-governmental organizations, a massive governmental reeducation program centering on moral values and the national vision and mission and including training centers like the Philippine Military Academy, the Philippine National Police Academy and the Development Academy of the Philippines.
This reeducation program will be complemented by electronic transaction methods as well as other corrective measures in the areas of procurement, accounting and auditing. With these, as well as a revenue-based budgeting system, the improvement of BIR and Customs collections both through transparency checks and technologically- improved processes, and the restructuring of public debts, I estimate that I can balance the budget within the next five years. Will there still be space for corruption after all these measures? Not if we all help each other, as our ancestors did long ago, in the tradition of damayan and bayanihan. For only by working together as a nation can we emerge as a nation, intact in body, soul and spirit. I can guarantee you that under my leadership, we will.

I second to jammer said. We need a leader who have the courage to prosecute government officials who are caught doing corruptions. A leader who can set out straight all his subordinates. Ang problema kasi sa atin takot tayo sa matatapang na presidente. Takot tayo sa mga strict rules and implementation of law. Gusto kasi ng mga Filipino ay malambot ang puso ng presidente para tugunan ang problema ng mahihirap. Paano uunlad ang bayan natin? Tignan ninyo ang bansang China, Singapore at Thailand, umuunlad dahil sa matatapang pero may vision na leader na nag-iwan ng maandang legacy ng pamumuno.

– sya’y hindi nako-corrupt (or to that effect)
– meron syang ginagawa tuwing makaka-encounter sya ng pangugurakot sa gobyerno, like nirereklamo nya or kino-confront nya (hindi lang yung nagdadaldal sya sa prayer meetings)
– never syang nag-bribe ng pulis nung nahuli sya for traffic violation (if any)
– honest sya with regards to reimbursables, di yung pati meals ng pamilya nya, icha-charge pa nya kung saan (if any)

BRO. EDUARDO “EDDIE” C. VILLANUEVA
Bro. Eduardo “Eddie” Villanueva is a spiritual leader, a model family man and a respected founder of the Jesus Is Lord Movement, the world’s fourth biggest independent Church. He was born in Bocaue, Bulacan on Oct. 6, 1946.He spent his elementary days in Bambang Elementary School in Bocaue, had his 1st 2years of high school in St. Mary’s Academy (now St. Mary’s College) in Meycauayan and finished it in Meycauayan Institute (now Meycauayan College).
In 1969, he graduated with a degree in Commerce, major in Economics, from the Philippine College of Commerce (PCC), now known as Polytechnic University of the Philippines. He was an active student leader and a consistent scholar in college. He took up law at the University of the Philippines but was sidelined by his activism and never had the time to take the bar.
His career began shortly after obtaining his college diploma. He worked as a full-time faculty member of the Economics and Finance Department of his alma mater until 1972. He then worked as the general manager of the Agape Trading Company. He returned to PUP in 1978 as part-time professor as he could not resist the lure of teaching.
But 1978 was an auspicious year for Bro. Eddie. It was when he put up the Jesus Is Lord Fellowship – which started with just fifteen student-members 25 years ago. In a quarter of a decade, the membership grew to some three million members nationwide, as well as those scattered in 33 countries abroad, and is now considered the largest evangelical church in the Philippines.
For his incessant efforts to spread the message of truth, justice and righteousness, Bro. Eddie has received a number of accolades from prestigious organizations and even his peers.
Among the citations he has thus far received, Bro. Eddie values his Gintong Ama (Golden Father) award for Socio-civic/Religious Sector given by the Golden Mother and Father Foundation in June 1996 and his being voted as the Pastor of the Year in a 1988 worldwide search conducted by Dr. George Otis’ High Adventure Ministries. The Ministries broadcasts its Voice of Hope Program in 72 countries.
He was ordained Minister of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in 1979 by the California-based Victory in Christ Church and International Ministries, was conferred the Office of Episcopacy by the sectarian Body of Christ in the Philippines in April 1996.
In February 2001, Bro. Eddie also received the prestigious EDSA People Power Freedom Award for ZOE TV 11 for its fair coverage of the People Power 2.In his career as spiritual leader and evangelist, Bro. Eddie has founded many entities that he uses to spread the word of God.Aside from the Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide, where he sits as spiritual director and international president, he also put up ZOE Broadcasting Network Inc., the owner and operator of channel 11.
Bro. Eddie hosts three ZOE programs, namely Diyos at Bayan, PJM (Philippines for Jesus Movement) Forum and Jesus The Healer. He also writes regular columns, God and Nation for People’s Tonight and Diyos at Bayan for People’s Taliba. Straight from the Word, his column at the Philippine Star, ran for nine years. He is also the President of the Jesus Is Lord Colleges Foundation, Inc. which provides education to deserving students; national chairman of the Philippines for Jesus Movement and president of the Council of Christian Bishops of the Philippines.
A pacifist and an advocate of unity, he chairs the God’s People Coalition for Righteousness, a coalition of Catholics, Muslims, Protestants, Evangelical and Born Again Christians. He likewise serves as a trustee of the International Bible Society and vice-chair of the Christ For Asia. Bro. Eddie lives in Bocaue, Bulacan with his wife Adoracion Jose Villanueva.

I Think the time is UP for GMA…Guilty or Not GUILTY, there is no other way but to STEP DOWN…There are no MORE STEPS going UP so SHE has no CHOICE but to go down.Her REPUTATION has been STAINED beyond IMAGINATION and it would be VERY VERY HARD for that STAIN to DISAPPEAR……no MATTER what ….ALL other OPTIONS she may HAVE on HER MIND would be USELESS. THE issue is NO LONGER whether SHE CHEATED or not. THE FACT that she talked to a COMELEC official will CERTAINLY give the IMPRESSION that SHE has CHEATED, coz IT IS A GREAT POSSIBILITY !and then again SHE MAY NOT HAVE CHEATED! But WHO WILL EVER BELIEVE HER????? saying SORRY doesn’t make it any BETTER. that SCAR will remain with HER. They say TIME heals ALL WOUNDS, some just take LONGER than others…. but i think THE FILIPINO people cannot wait any LONGER for that wound to HEAL coz it MIGHT take FOREVER… to GMA, be HUMBLE enough and STEP down, You will never KNOW maybe the WATER down will GIVE you MORE PEACE and HAPPINESS.

You are right, magaling talaga si GMA at ang mga ‘political strategist’ niya. Pinalabas nila si EDDIE GIL, tumakbo bilang ‘presidenatiable’ at mas binigyan ng media exposure ng mga tv at radio station para maging mas kilala compared kay BRO. EDDIE VILLANUEVA. Kita naman ninyo ang mga pinaggagawa ni EDDIE GIL noon at wala talaga sa tamang katinuan siya. At may mga kaso pa pala ang taong ito.
Kaya maraming nalito kung sino talaga si BRO. EDDIE VILLANUEVA. He was unjustly compared and was related to EDDIE GIL. Wala kasi silang makitang ‘skeletons in the closet’ or mga kasong pwedeng isampa kay BRO. EDDIE kaya ganito ginawa nilang strategy. Kung mayroon man ay gawa-gawa lang nila.

Here’s the answer to your question “Will BRO. EDDIE VILLANUEVA tax the church if he becomes the president of the Philippines?”:
Our stand is to tax any religious property making a profit such as universities, apartment buildings, business stablishments and other for profit stablishments owned by religious groups no matter what sector is involved.

Ulitin ko, I’m not a member of JIL Church but I believe in the integrity and what BRO. EDDIE VILLANUEVA is fighting for.
Maraming mga taong nag-volunteer at bumoto kay BRO. EDDIE last 2004. Kasama ko ang aking isang asawa at 2 kong anak, aged 6 and 8 sa mga campaigns at rally sa Luneta. Para pag laki nila alam nila kung anong klaseng Pilipino ang dapat nilang ihalal sa gobyerno.
Di ko alam kung bakit mataas pa rin si Lacson kay BRO. EDDIE. Baka pwede nating itanong kay GARCI at sa ISAFP. Baka mayroon pang FATHER OF ALL TAPES…

Do the “Doves” believe that they can take us for a ride? They are terribly mistaken. We are fed up of their pretensions, their intellectual and moral arrogance. They know that GMA is a cheat and a consistent liar. GMA does not deserve your trust. Don’t be a part of a grand cover-up. The most disgusting people are the hypocrites. Resign NOW or be condemned with GMA.
To all those who would like to restore decency, integrity, and discipline in government, at the moment, we shouldn’t be distracted by attempts to divide us. The pretender in Malacañang and its sycophants are sowing intrigues among us. Consultations are being made among various forces to settle the issue of transition process. Be assured that a council is already formed and is being expanded to fill-in the leadership vacuum once GMA is deposed. For the first time in history, BAYAN, KPD, RJ, AKBAYAN, PopDem, PMAP, UMDJ, FPJ’s and ERAP supporters, UNO, Lacson’s group, JIL, well-meaning EDSA Dos forces, and even the church are talking. Ongoing debates on who should lead us though very valid only serve to divide us.
At the moment we should focus all our efforts in organizing and strengthening our forces and in carrying out our campaign plans. The leadership issue can be best addressed by an election in a proper time. What is important is that the election process that will be put in place is fair, participatory and transparent, and that the comelec is composed of people of integrity, something that can be acceptable to all, which is not far fetched.
But we should be cautious of groups who are one foot in and one foot out, the one foot who are openly supporting GMA but the other foot openly advocating a civilian-military junta who are in fact the source of our current troubles.
