A grand conspiracy?

WAS the impeachment complaint filed by Atty. Oliver Lozano part of a “grand conspiracy” by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and her administration to preempt a genuine impeachment process?

This is the question raised by members of the so-called Hyatt 10 in a press conference this morning. The group of former cabinet members of Pres. Arroyo who resigned last July 8 made a series of revelations alleging that not only was the Lozano complaint an administration ploy to prevent a genuine complaint from being filed, but also that a shadowy parallel group of Palace operators was maneuvering to save the president.

Former DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman said she was an eye-witness to a conversation between Pres. Arroyo and Presidential Assistant for Political Affairs Gabby Claudio on the evening of June 27, 2005, right after the made her “I am sorry” speech in a nationwide telecast.

Excerpts from Soliman’s statement:

"… it was June 27, while I was still secretary of the DSWD, we were called to a meeting in Malacañang that evening and with other cabinet members watched the live coverage of the ‘I am sorry’ speech. After the speech, President Arroyo joined cabinet members in the guesthouse and we congratulated her, I even gave her a bouquet of roses and sang with other cabinet members. I was privy to a conversation that took place outside the main dining hall, the full meaning of which only dawned on me of late.

"…Sec. Gabby Claudio, told by President Arroyo that Lozano had filed an impeachment complaint. PGMA asked if it had already been endorsed, Claudio said no. PGMA told Claudio to have the complaint endorsed already. ‘Pa-endorse mo na,’ (Have it endorsed already) GMA said, to which Claudio replied, he will talk to Marcoleta.  At that time, I was not aware of the significance of that conversation."

As it turned out, Rodante Marcoleta, an unknown first-term representative of the party list group Alagad, seemed to have suddenly emerged from out of nowhere to endorse the impeachment complaint a few days later. The move is seen by many in the opposition as having pre-empted a genuine, well studied and consolidated complaint.

Former education secretary Florencio "Butch" Abad asks: "If that is so, are Lozano and Marcoleta aware (of this grand conspiracy)?"

Since the Lozano complaint, also called the original complaint, opposition members have filed an amended version. Debates on the existence of these two complaints have divided and delayed the proceedings, which are expected to come to a head today.

[…] Malacañang lost no time gathering together all the president’s men once again to face the media and deny allegations made by former social welfare secretary Corzon "Dinky" Soliman and former education chief Florencio "Butch" Abad, whom the Palace people now refer to as part of the "Hyatt 4."   […]

Kelan ba nagsalita ng totoo ang Malacanang? Remember the truthful Sec. Bunye? First he confirmed the voice is from GMA but the content was just edited, Second he said he was now only 98 percent sure, and Lastly, for the icing on the cake, that the voice is not from GMA.
Days later La Gloria herself admitted for being the voice on that conversation.

The Palace will stop at nothing to clear ( meaning cover up ) the affair.
But whether or not the impeachment prospers, most of our countrymen knows it was her talking to Garci. History will not be as kind to her as FVR and JDV is.

The palace does nothing but wait for the turn of events and throw counter punches each time anyone comes up with something deemed hurting to the president.

Remember before the election of 2004? Everytime anyone declares interest in running for the presidency, a case is slapped on his face. Roco had the corruption charges thrown against him. Lacson was haunted by Mary Ong no end. FPJ suddenly turns out to be an alien. Nothing has changed in the tactics. It haas become so predictable.

Sana umalis nalang si Gloria ng kusa. Kapal talaga ng mukha nya!!!!!!!

They can lie all their way to their deathbed. What awaits them then? I hope that gloria and her gang will realize their mistake and amend their ways for the sake of the country and for their respective souls.

[…] Terminating the debate on the first prejudicial question shortly after the plenary adjourned to give way to the resumption of the committee hearing, Datumanong denied Rep. Robert Ace Barbers’s appeal to defer voting and allow him ample time to speak on the issue of this morning’s revelation made by former social welfare secretary Dinky Soliman that the Lozano complaint was a Malacañang ploy meant to preempt a genuine impeachment proceeding against Pres. Arroyo. He also sought to summon Soliman to shed light on the matter. […]

Nakakaimbiyerna naman ang pangyayaring ito sa kongreso. Eh talagang halatang-halata lutong makaw.
