A primer on human rights

TO aid the public in understanding their basic rights under a state of national emergency, we are posting a primer published by the Free Legal Assistance Group (FLAG). 

FLAG released the primer, "Your Human Rights!" in recognition of the need to inform people of their rights in times of martial law or any other state of public emergency.

The primer identifies the emergency powers the President may employ, differentiates when an arrest is legitimate or not, and offers reminders on what to do when one is being arrested and while in detention.
