Caught on camera

Howie SeverinoBROADCAST journalist Howie Severino is used to wielding the camera and recording — sometimes secretly — people’s reactions to his questions. But what if he finds himself at the other end of the lens?

In a first-person account that is part of our series this month on voyeurs and exhibitionists, Severino reflects on the use of hidden recording devices in order to get to the truth. He even confesses, “It still escapes me how wiretapping is illegal, yet hidden cameras, which capture both sound and images, are not.”
