[photo by Isa Lorenzo]HAVING a scandal-free run is probably on the wish list of every administration, but in this age of scandalous oil prices, so too is developing an alternative fuel that will finally free the country from dependence on imported petrol. Fortunately for Pinoys, some of the alternatives the government is looking at are friendly to the environment.

For sure, the opening piece in i Report‘s series on Power and Poisons makes it clear that the country’s road to having its own energy supply is likely to be long and strewn with potholes. Yet it’s still heartening to know that there is some chance — however slim — we could end up with a renewable energy resource that will be kinder to the environment, as well as to our bodies.
