Remembering a gentle warrior
Alecks Pabico, 1967-2009

FRIENDS and family paid tribute to Alecks Pardo Pabico, the former Multimedia Director of the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism, on the first anniversary of his death.

Alecks, the man many have described as journalism’s gentle warrior, passed away due to a lingering illness on October 7. 2009.

A small group of friends, colleagues, and admirers joined Mira, Marlee, and Kaya and the rest of the Pabico family in celebrating mass in memory of Alecks at the University of the Philippines chapel this morning.

Fierce and noble, yet gentle and unassuming, Alecks wielded pen, keyboard, and mouse as the PCIJ’s Multimedia Director for nearly 15 years.
