PCIJ docu on Maguindanao
Massacre now online
On November 23, 2009, 58 people were murdered by a local warlord from Maguindanao in the worst case of election violence in Philippine history. Maguindanao: One Year After, takes a look at the hope that still flickers for the families of the victims despite the unbearably slow path to justice.
Written and produced by PCIJ Multimedia Director Ed Lingao, the documentary brings to light issues that still linger for the families a year after the massacre, even as police have charged members of the Ampatuan clan for the gruesome incident.
