The Southeast Asian Press Alliance (SEAPA) has condemned a terrorist attack directed against the Liberal Islam Network based in Jakarta, Indonesia, that indirectly involved one of SEAPA’s founding members.

An unidentified man delivered a bomb disguised as a package to the building housing the Institute for Studies on Free Flow of Information (ISAI) and radio station KBR 68H in Utan Kayu in East Jakarta.

The package was addressed to Ulil Abshar Abdalla, an Islamic scholar who founded the Jaringan Islam Liberal or the Liberal Islam Network. Abshar used to work for ISAI.

The bomb exploded and injured four people after a local policeman attempted to disarm it.
