Thai authorities arrested a recent university graduate under Thailand’s lese majeste law that prohibits citizens from saying anything critical about the Thai monarchy.

The Southeast Asian Press Alliance (SEAPA) identified the graduate as Norawase Yospiyasathien. Norawase studied accounting in Kasetsart University and graduated only recently. He is only 22 years old.

In a bulletin sent to its member-organizations, SEAPA said Norawase was forced to spend three nights in jail until his family guaranteed his bail using a land title. The Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism is a founding member of SEAPA.
