‘Staying Alive’ docu
now online

THE PHILIPPINE CENTER for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) is proud to announce that the last installment of its Media Killings Series, the safety training video for journalists titled “Staying Alive,” is now online and available to the viewing public.

“Staying Alive” is an updated version of the first PCIJ safety training video of the same title produced in 2006. Aside from being an updated version of the 2006 video, the latest version emphasizes the value of several other important but often neglected elements of staying safe: the value of networking, and the role that professionalism plays in minimizing the risks in a working environment. These elements, combined with several practical safety tips, may help journalists reduce the danger they expose themselves to. The documentary was produced with assistance from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
