ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN TO SCHOOL knows what it is like to cram. But in the Philippines, cramming takes on quite a different meaning altogether.

Republic Act No. 7880 or the Fair and Equitable Access to Education Act imposes a limit of 45 students per classroom per day. The law intends to allow both students and teachers to have a more conducive atmosphere for real learning.

But guess what – that law is not being followed.

For today’s Data a Day, we take a look at the problem of cramming – and by this we do not mean exams.

Which is the only school division in Metro Manila where elementary schools meet the legal requirement of having a maximum of 45 pupils per classroom?

  1. San Juan City

  2. Makati City

  3. Las Piñas City

  4. Pasig City

Take note of the wording of the question: “the only school division” that meets the limit allowed by the law.
