THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (FOI) bill got another major push with the production of more television plugs in support of the long-delayed measure.

GMA News has released two more television plugs of news personalities endorsing the FOI and the concept of transparency and accountability. The two new plugs feature news reporters Maki Pulido and Joseph Morong talking about why ordinary citizens have the right to demand information from the government. The first plug, released by GMA over the weekend, featured GMA News vice president for news programs Jessica Soho.

In the new plugs, Pulido said that while some groups may have differences of opinion on what to do with the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or the pork barrel, the groups are united in the call for more accountability from government. “Pananagutan at katotohanan lamang ang paraan,” Pulido said.

Morong for his part said that all taxpayers have one common demand: transparency in government. “I have the right to know – at kayo rin,” he said.
