Disappointed business leaders

TOP business leaders were disappointed that President Arroyo announced last Wednesday only the "exile" of First Gentleman Jose Miguel "Mike" Arroyo.

Malaya columnist Ellen Tordesillas writes that the business leaders were  expecting the President to also announce that her son, Rep. Juan Miguel "Mikey" Arroyo, and brother-in-law, Rep. Ignacio  "Iggy" Arroyo, would go on a prolonged leave of absence, and the removal of the First Gentleman’s proteges in the Cabinet and other government agencies.

The Arroyo men have been accused of receiving proceeds from the illegal numbers game jueteng.

Fifteen business leaders, who met  the President at her family home in Forbes Park after her speech at the Manila Polo Club last Wednesday, told Mrs. Arroyo that the public’s expectations are high, and "you can’t let these expectations outpace your reforms."

The businessmen submitted to the President last June 26 a list of recomendations that are essentially the same as those suggested by 12 Cabinet members on how the President should deal with the jueteng and "Garci" tape scandals.

So far, the President has acted on two: On June 27, she publicly apologized for making phone calls to a Comelec official. On June 29, she announced that her husband was leaving the country.

For more on the President’s June 29 meeting with the business leaders, read Tordesillas’s column.

What exile?

The PDI carries a report today conveniently at page 4 of the main paper sayin” “exiled” first gentleman back after 3 days in HK”

The same paper also quoted a report from Honkong’s South China Morning Post that the “FG had denied he had gone into self-exile and branded such reports as confused”

Now, who is telling the truth again?.

Mkie is back from HK and denied that he was on self-exile.

In the first place, may naniniwala pa ba sa kanya?

And as in, the second place, much more with GMA.

If the Arroyo family & their cohorts can extract money or recieve payolas discretely from illegitimate sources such as jueteng…how much more from legitimate private businesses & government contracts?
Can there be also such a thing as a ” First Quadrant payola”, a controversial pyramid business legitimized through the interventive efforts of the high & mighty Sec. Mike Defensor?

The collection must go own. Even with MIKE ARROYO in exile(kuno) he can just make a couple of phone calls from abroad to continue receiving the government largesse. Without the collection they won’t have the money to buy the SUPREME COURT, PNP, NBI, AFP, OBUDSMAN, CONGRESS and don’t forget COMELEC, NAMFREL may pahabol pa MAKATI BUSINESS CLUB(Especially Mr. Luz). Its CHEAP to buy these people.

…ano kaya nangyari sa mga thoroughbred arabian horses the Arroyos once imported (questionably) through the Phil. Sports Commission?
…bakit atat na atat si Mike Defensor sa nakakasirang industriya ng mining?
siyempre gold, minerals, timber oil, etc… natural resources can generate an endless stream of kickbacks railroaded by the amazing & tested gerrymandering abilities of Mike Defensor for the Arroyos & of course, for himself!

To swerty: Yup! I know this because of my father. He works in the buissness of enviorment. Investing etc. Unfortunately everyone had to back down on the safe-engine combustion daw including the italian investors (Iveco motors) because until now gloria isnt signing or approving anything when they even got the approval of 3 national banks. 2 foreign and the 9 secretaries. PLUS with the addition that Mr. Mike Arroyo was part of the project. Another reason because of his plunging of money. Thats what he told me atleast. Oh well..

Godbless and takecare!

These business leaders must be doubly disappointed this time since Mike A is back in town. These business leaders should once again press for their demand of banishing the three (3) Arroyo’s so that nobody would be asking kickbacks from them anymore.

Question lang – kung si Mike Defensor is one of the election strategist during the past election. Why? not him (Mike) doing the calls to Garci, and not Gloria…

The GloriaGate audio tape is the Mother of all evidence directly linking Gloria doing illegal act. Let me reiterate – direct evidence linking Gloria doing illegal act. She has a cadre of very good lawyers that can cover all her tracts but oh boy the wiretap conversation is a direct hit. Malacanang tries to be LEGALESE about the issue because they have the control of the Judicial system not to mention the pre-judicial works i.e. doctored evidence, fabricated witness / affidavits, Conditioning of the Media, intimidation of witness, kidnapping of potential witness, coercing a witness to tell lies, hiring PR firms ( including Inquirer) to do spin-offs.

Well Gloria can do anything and pay anything – But the government is shouldering the expenses (pera ng taong bayan).

Well its possible that the Legal Defense / Cover Up / Hush Fund came from jueteng money.

Maybe PCIJ should have asked Ms. Tordesillas to write her column here, rather than post 2nd hand information.

Or are we just trying to dig materials now to show that more and more respectable sectors of the society are now turning against the President?

One must have crossed the rivers of Antique
to know that only Antique can give birth
to an Ellen Tordesillas.

Business leaders should,by now, be twice disapponted.

After all, Mike is back from HK despite a Palace announcement that he’s on voluntary exile.

Now, will GMA expect more from the taxpayers to believe what she is saying?

Asawa nya nga di nya madisiplina’t marendahan, taong bayan pa kaya?

The makati businessmen have nobody to blame except themselves for the MIRE we are all in.

First , they support and fund the politicans they want who they feel can protect their interest. When these politicians win, the first thing they do is to ask to ” RETURN THE FAVOR ” .

How? By appointing the lapdogs of these businessmen. Thus we see the likes of ALFONSO CUSI , OSCAR SEVILLA, ERNEST VILLAREAL, getting the juicy post to serve their benefactors, the ABOITIZ GROUP headed by presidential comparde ” twice over” ENDIKA ABOITIZ.This person is very powerful in that despite the fact that this lapdogs have cases in the ombudsman they continue to serve their MASTER,whose group is in Air &,Sea transport as well as energy and banking.

What do these businessmen have in common?

Their common denominator is that when the going gets tough , they go abroad, leaving us poor FILIPINOS to fight among ourselves. Remember , when Augusto Sanches was appointed as Labor Secretary, he was pro labor that these makati businessmen sought Cory to fire him!

Remember Marcos years? what drove the economy then, were not these makati businessmen whose quietness was deafening, but we, the so called underground economy.

Hopefully the next president Noli de castro who i voted but is hated by the makati businessmen take heed so that history will not repeat itself.
