The 41 who signed

IN her comment on "Lights, camera, impeachment," enlightened_pinay asked where she can find a list of representatives who have already signed the impeachment complaint against President Arroyo.

We are posting the list here. The biggest group of signatories is composed of members of the Liberal Party, with nine of their members endorsing the complaint. Seven belong to the Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino or LDP; five are Nationalist People’s Coalition members; two are Nacionalistas; and there is one each from the Partido ng Masang Pilipino and Kilusang Bagong Lipunan. One member of the president’s own party Lakas signed the complaint, and one other is independent. Fourteen are representatives of eight different party-list groups.

This brings the number of signatories to 41. Opposition leaders, however, have said that they have obtained the commitment of more than 20 other representatives but are keeping their identities under wraps so they will not be "harassed" by the majority.

These are the signatories of the resolution endorsing the amended impeachment complaint. Links to their data posted in PCIJ’s i-site are provided too. (Check i-site’s impeachment corner in the coming days for other relevant information.)

Space could be the constraint but I think a complete list of all the congressmen and how they stand could provide a more illustrative picture.

Thank you very much PCIJ, we can really count on you.

Im disappointed not to see our representative’s name (Cong. Joey Hizon, 5th district Manila) in the list. But I’m writing a letter to him now to urge him to sign the impeachment complain.

Pag walang nangyari, humanda ka Congressman, the next election day will be payback time. You will be needing a lot of help from the likes of Garcillano.

If the allies of Mrs. Arroyo really believe there is nothing to hide and that she is not guilty, they should let the impeachment prosper. Their attempts to stop the process at all cost is a clear indication of the great fear of being exposed.

I hope that we have not become a nation of totally blind and deaf inhabitants. What are techncialities when the truth is staring us in the face? How can we allow such lies to thrive? Everytime I read the statements of Mrs. Arroyo’s defenders, I suffer from terrible angst. I wonder what stuff liars like them are made of.

I believe that when the congressmen monkey with the impeachment (thanks to Sen. Drillon for the very appropriate term addressed to JDV) the people will start to open their eyes real wide and the situation will go worse for Mrs.Arroyo.

as the opposition has said, some names are not yet on that list. there’s one lakas solon, known for his consistency and idealism who isn’t on that list yet. others are just ‘segurista’s. one admin lawmaker wants to sign when the number reaches 60+, and clinching that actually seals the complaint because he’s bringing an entire bloc in. the admin lawmakers know this, that’s why they’re opposing the creeping impeachment approach. if the creeping impeachment approach is thumbed down then those signatures probably won’t materalize and it’s a long struggle at the justice committee. ay, believe me, some are even using the complaint for leverage and perks — from committee chairmanships to PDAF releases to outright cash, etc. one chunk of the complaint was actually taken out before filing because of all these deals. kaya the impeachment is not decisive, kalye pa din ang bottomline when push comes to the inevitable shove.

Calling, appealing to all the truth-loving filipinos, the middle forces, those who abhore lies, deceits, and cover-ups, dun sa ayaw sa mga plastic,to the readers of this widely visited site for INFORMATIONS on their respective congressmen – e-mail, websites, cellphone numbers, even home addresses and office addresses.

Kumilos na tayo before its too late.

Let us write, send notes, to those congressmen who have not signed for the impeachment that we, the truth loving filipinos wont always be fence sitters. We must pulverized them with barrage of messages that our eyes, ears are all open, our souls are collectively longing for the truth. Let our slogan be “ABANTE SA SENADO, ILABAS ANG TOTOO”

Likewise calling all religious entities, priests, bishops, sisters, pastors of all congregations and denominations join us in this mission to bombard all the congressmen with prayers and notes and messages about our hunger for that elusive truth.

To all our businessmen who has alot to gain from this exercise. I am appealing to their sense of morality to encourage our congressmen to sign for the impeachment so that truth could be ferreted as this is the only way i think, if done with utmost fairness and objectivity , that we could achieve peace and eventually progress.

Still calling for the PCIJ STAFF to find ways to get all the contact informations on all congressmen who had not yet sign in the impeachment. Please make an effort to collate all the data and put it into one blog topic.I think this is one of the best way to contribute in ferreting out the truth for now. I suppose it is only the FINDING OF THE TRUTH that could bind every filipino no matter where you are or what your conviction is.

In this digital age pag andyan na ang mga infos on these congressmen I am sure all truth loving filipinos will rally and contact their respective representatives to vote for the impeachment as this is the only reliable way for now to get to the bottom of all these controversies.

peregrine0925 is right about where to get the contact information of all the members of the House. Unfortunately, there are no email addresses available as the House website makes use of web forms to get feedback from visitors. That means you will have to do it individually, one congressman at a time. Just a minor hassle, I think, so try it just the same.

as one of those who listened to the tape a number of times, I say the same thing to those who haven’t heard. I am surprised to find out that there are more who have not heard than those who have. What I do is to really convince them to listen. Only those with selective perception would say there’s nothing wrong. When I hear such comments, that they don’t find anything wrong with what Garcillano and PGMA are talking about, I really believe that ours is a damaged society. We don’t find acts like these as wrong.

Most congressmen from NCR are conspicuously no-signers. Yet 70% of NCR population are pro-impeach.

Does it have to mean that if a congressman votes to impeach- he is anti-PGMA? What if one votes so that the [process moves on and all witnesses heard and evidences scrutinised…. this way the truth should come out.

Methinks a vote to impeach should be taken also as a vote to know the truth- which is exactly a conscience vote.

There are six C’s which affect a congressman’s vote:

1. CONVICTION – the congressman will vote consistent with what he believes in, his principles and his advocacy

2. CONSCIENCE – the congressman will take a position for or against after he has gone over the pros and cons, makes a reflection and follows what his conscience tells him

3. CONSTITUENTS – the congressman will take a position that his constituents expect him to take. Usually arrived at due to sensitivity to his constituents’ opinions

4. COMMITTEES (chairmanship or membership) – the congressman will go with whatever will ensure or protect his position in the House committees

5. COMPROMISES / COMMITMENTS – the congressman’s position is tied down to a commitment to a person or party

6. CASH – the decision is basewd on monetary reward.

Ask your congressmen which of the above C’s affected their position.

Inamin na ng lawyer ni PGMA in the radio news this morning that it was Garci he spoke to. When the lawyer seemed to have realized his folly, Atty. Makalintal, who was also mentioned by Garci in the tape, immediately came to the lawyer’s rescue.

I feel it is stupid to ignore the tape as an evidence just because it is illegaly recorded. The act of illegally recording conversation must be a separate case from the impeachment.

Alecks,

check the breaking news section of the Inquirer – ” Arroyo seeks dismissal of impeach raps except one by Lozano”

… He was referring to the audiotapes that purportedly recorded the President’s alleged conversation with an unidentified election official to supposedly manipulate the results in the 2004 election.

Arroyo had publicly admitted and apologized for talking to the unnamed official whom reports had identified as former Commission on Elections commissioner Virgilio Garcillano.

Ferrer said the President was merely protecting her votes when she talked to the official.

“The President had already made that apology. (There is) no problem in talking with Garcillano…” he said.

But when pressed by reporters to elaborate on the conversation, the lawyer withdrew his statement.

“The President already made that apology in public,” he said. “I cannot make any comment on that. That’s a different matter.”

He stressed that the President simply wanted to ensure that her votes were protected during the canvassing.

Yan panay kasi ang push for “CHA-CHA”, It seems that GMA made another “lapse in judgement” by calling for charter change snd has painted herself to a corner. She must now gather her allies in congress to block the impeachment. She incurred the ire of the senators who will definitely be out of their jobs if ever her evil plan of turning the house to a con-ass succeeds. She clearly has to prevent the impeachment reaching the halls of the senate or she will definitely lose her impeachment. That is why she has to kill the impeachment in congress.

I salute those who have signed the impeachment complaint regardless of their motives. What is important to me is to know the truth and to find out how much dirt is “under the rug”. Times like this is when I miss Cardinal Sin the most.

know this is late…ngayon lang ako nag blog and viewed more of this website, even going back to past blogs..just want to thank the congressmen who signed the impeachment complaint. always knew those young congressmen in the admin would do the right thing and sign the complaint.to find out the truth. reyes, jaworski, remulla(i kinda knew he would sign) and barbers.i was also pro-gloria but i believe in impeachment not because i judged her guilty already…but i want to know if she is or nt.so thank you to those who signed.even though it got killed, i still support what you did.
also,in our place, most people and my friends as well are either pro-gloria, neutral or have no idea because they do not care.some are happy living their lives.come to think of it, i don’t know personally anyone here anti-gma.i just want to say i’m confused because for some reason a part of me wants gloria to remain president but i know there should be a trial to find out if she is innocent or guilty. i guess one factor also is i question some of the opposition who may have ties with erap before. they defended erap so why are they against PGMA. if they are against corruption in this admin, why in erap’s time did they not oppose him and they defended him? I am confused.
