The numbers clearly show how we continuously fail to elect people who will put God, Country and People over their own interests. Time and time again we elect officials based on personalities, not issues; based on promises, not performance; based on popularity not principles.

And even if you do vote wisely, we come across the likes of Gloria who will twist election results to their own satisfaction and lamely say “Sorry” when found out.

Then what do we do? We sigh and look up to the heavens and say “we expected this much” and go on with our pathetic lives.

Bayan ko! Gumising ka! Di ka ba naaawa sa kinalulugmukan mo?

The Arroyo administation said the majority won the impeachment and its a glorious day for the people of the Philippines. My question is, what majority? They may be right when they said that in a democracy the majority wins, and numbers count in a democracy. And I would say that they are also correct when they said that the minority should respect the decision in a democracy. But WHO IS REALLY THE MAJORITY HERE ? The majority congressmen and malacanang seems to have forgotten that they are NOT THE MAJORITY in our democracy. The REAL MAJORITY ARE THE PEOPLE ON THE STREETS, THE HARD WORKING FILIPINOS who sweat all day, THE VENDORS, THE TEACHERS, THE STUDENTS, THE ORDINARY EMPLOYEES , THE HEROS WHO DIED SO WE CAN HAVE THIS DEMOCRACY ARE THE TRUE MAJORITY! They seemed to have forgotten that they only represent us and not the other way around.

The next question is : What does the true majority want ? What the true majority want is that the truth come out. The TRUE MAJORITY wants to see the evidence againts GMA. The TRUE MAJORITY DOES NOT TO WANT TO judge her yet as guilty, but wants HER TO FACE THE ACCUSATIONS AGAINTS HER. The TRUE MAJORITY WANTS HER TO ANSWER POINT BY POINT THE QUESTIONS REGARDING THE LEGITIMACY OF HER PRESIDENCY. The majority wants to know the TRUTH!

If the TRUE MAJORITY FINDS HER ANSWER SUFFICIENT then WE WILL HELP HER BUILT A BETTER NATION. BUT IF WE FIND HER GUILTY THE WE WILL LET HER SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES. But sadly, with the death of the impeachment we might never know!!

THESE SO CALLED “MAJORITY CONGRESSMEN” KILLED THE TRUTH. Now, the last question maybe : WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? WIIL WE ( THE TRUE MAJORITY) will just wait, forgive and forget? what happens next?

The issues raised againts her should NEVER BE SWEPT UNDER THE RUG! i BELIEVE THAT FILIPINOS ARE BETTER THAN THAT. We Filipinos are a nobel race and with the odds againts us we will succeed! The true Filipinos ADHERES TO THE TRUTH, WHAT EVER IT TAKES!!

TO THE BISHOPS PLEASE HELP US FIND THE TRUTH!! TO ALL OF US PLEASE UNITE!!

Thew reluctance of the middle forces to actively aprticipate in the present cry for impeachment is a clear indication of their acceptance thay they made a mistake in ousting what they believed to be an evil president and replacing him with an equally if not more evil leader.

Th absencew of an Imee Marcos during the voting is likewise a very clear sign of the kind of negotiations it takes for the adminsitration to win allies to its side. Vow!

The reality is a bit more simple than that, Ms. assumptionista.

Those people on the streets who you claim are the “majority” are actually the same people who voted those congressmen into office as their “representatives”. And we, being subject to the State, have signed off on the premise that congress — by virtue of its officials being appointed by popular vote — are DE FACTO representative of the majority.

So deal with it, missy. One cannot arbitrarily void Congress and arbitrarily decide that a street mob will call the shots from hereon. That is called ANARCHY. If that is what you really want, then we should be prepared to go the whole nine yards — real revolution rather than this perversion of revolution I have come to call FIESTA REVOLUTION over the last five years. Is that what we REALLY want? If so, then how come we regard the agenda of the true perpetrators of anarchy as a means to complete and ABSOLUTE revolution — the COMMUNISTS — with so much distaste?

Think of it, dudes. We even exhibit MEDIOCRITY in the act of executing REVOLUTIONS.

ha ha!

Again, I emphasise how perversion of ideas is our only claim to fame thus far. This is a concept I articulate in this article:

http://www.geocities.com/benign0/agr-disagr/10-5-perverted.html

Excerpt:

“If we are hopeless at building on established human knowledge, what hope do we have of adding to it? One thing is for sure. We seem to be adept at subtracting from the sum of human achievement. Considering the rate at which we are multiplying, that is an even scarier thought. ” 😀

Pangasinan express picked up the 185 and not the 189 promised will not go for the impeachmen at the start of the Moro-Moro game ka na ba.

Cong. Imee where are you?

A) Hawak niya ang HOUSE OF OLD REPRESENTATHIEVES . Me silbi sila ke Gloria pero di sa mamamayan. The voice of the lolo-tenga is the voice of Gloria. Ay mali ka na naman Toting Bawi ha-The voice of the people is the voice of God daw!

B) Another STEALING?

Another CHEATING!

GAMBLING!

E) Another LYING by lolo Datung-manong. Sorry Chiz said the old Datong-manong, pag eexplain na lang daw yung staff anong nangyari.

Natawa kami kasi nagmukhang tanga talaga yung 3 lolo! – I remember tuloy yung si tatang Nachura at Raul when he was interpellated by the the same brilliant guy, Chiz, during the last canvassing in the last election.

Kaya Gloria give us your most beautiful “NGISING ASO” starting today , kasi naiinspired kaming rumampa sa kalye, pag nasisilayan namin ang ngisi mong yan!

To the Pro-Impeachment Group, MARAMING SALAMAT sa sipag, tiyaga, talino at katapatang ipinakita ninyo sa labang ito, walang nasayang, bagkus pagahanga at respeto ang inani ninyo mula sa mga mamamayang gutom sa katotohanan!Sa mga kabataang leaders na lumabas at lumaban for the TRUTH, magpatuloy kayo, kayo ang hinahanap ng taumbayan mag lead sa hinaharap!Although, you did not have the numbers , You did a good fight in a meaningful battle! TRuth lies not in the numbers, but it lives in the heart and mind of the leader who could face her people withour fear and can answer honestly, that I DID NOT CHEAT, STEAL and LIE!

Lets forget the old men without integrity, because their time maybe near, death will pick them at the exact time that they will again do harm to the people!

Yung huling show ang sample what kind of a Parliamentary we will have soon , tiyak yan pipila ang lahat ng matatanda na maging Prime Minsiters natin, kawawa naman tayo sa kuko ng dilim!

di ba nyo naalala at napapansin mga statements ni gloria before & during her presidency?
– that she will not run in 2001 presidential election for the reason that she’s the cause of divisiveness.
-she admitt talking to comelec officer and say sorry for the lapse of judgement.
-take your grievance to congress. we all know what happened. 158-51 votes favoring her reign.
– calling for reconciliation. her most recent statement to all her opponents to reconcile and move on.

ano ang napansin nyo? INCENSERE! nakikita sa kanyang mga mata sabi nga ni susan roces. sinungaling talaga. how can we move on? nakalutang pa rin sa hangin yung mga allegations. we cannot achieve unity. arroyo is the problem. people are hungry for truth and justice. we are like minded citizens. di kami tanga ha? we are still hopeful. Concerned Citizen and others,
It’s all over folks – for now. So, roll up your sleeves and get back to work. Move on with your life. Man, how many times do we have to tell you that! Okay, okay, so its kinda painful..and i know you’re angry. But, LIVE WITH IT! That’s life. The bad thing about deepseated hatred is that it will consume you. And give credit to where credit is due : Gloria is a very formidable foe. You’ve thrown everything at her (juetenggate, hyatt 10, hello garci, lastly the santa/santita cory herself). Even outside factors filled in (oil crisis, credit downgrade). Did you break her down? NO. In fact, a lot of political pundits all but predicted her downfall. But, there she is, getting stronger. She’s like a hurricane that gets stronger when it gets hotter. Now, listen to all these political expert wannabes predicting that she will become inutile and a prisoner of power brokers after surviving the impeachment proceedings. Guess again, she might surprise us once more. Sometimes, im beginning to wonder, perhaps what she told the Time correspondent may be right after all – that God put her there! Of course you have the right to disagree. But if she is – God help your soul, she will be like a freight train – you either step aside or get out of her way!

Jonathan,

Well said, but it doesn’t mean we tolerated her bad doings. We’re just accepting the fact that she is really a formidable foe. We should not underestimate that so called pandak. Everything was thrown at her but she still standing and as you’ve said as if she became more stronger as the situation gets going. But we are not surrendering that cause here. Maybe today she have won, but tomorrow or next day it’s ours.

Stop your drama. Stop your story-telling nonsense. Stop presumptous conclusions… and STOP your lies.

“Gloria is a very formidable foe.”

A formidable foe doesn’t belong to Malacanan – only true presidents.

“You’ve thrown everything at her (juetenggate, hyatt 10, hello garci, lastly the santa/santita cory herself). Even outside factors filled in (oil crisis, credit downgrade).”

Who’s YOU? ha? Kami? Hindi ikaw? Comeon, who’s YOU? YOU don’t know? Then shutup and stop your hallucinated generalization.

“Did you break her down?”

Infact, YES. Remember, “I’m sorry…”

Remember corruption being revealed and remember reports of billions pesos worth of anomalous dispersal – in aid of protecting her. Who’s her? I’ll name her – your Gloria!

Tyranny has a name – it’s Gloria.

“In fact, a lot of political pundits all but predicted her downfall.”

Shows us the report because we don’t believe you. And who are these political pundits that seemed failed your expectation? Would you be contented with a “Hula?” Pathetic, isn’t it?

“But, there she is, getting stronger.”

Seemed so. To the untrained eye she does seem becoming more more a super syan no. 4. But what is actually getting more is the arming of government to conceal the truth.

How can ANYONE say she’s become stronger? How can we measure the strengh of a president? Did we see growth? She did not became a hot hurricane – complete falsehood analogy.

My dear benign0,

you said:

“Those people on the streets who you claim are the “majority” are actually the same people who voted those congressmen into office as their “representatives”. And we, being subject to the State, have signed off on the premise that congress — by virtue of its officials being appointed by popular vote — are DE FACTO representative of the majority.”

My opinion:

Of course your statement does not include the concept of cheating during the elections…It is a very big possibility, especially in this country, that these congressmen were not REALLY elected by the people of their respective districts but they still won in the elections.
These congressmen should represent the sentiments of their constituents and not the other way around. Even though they were elected as DE FACTO representative of the people, then it is their responsibility and obligation as agents of the people to prioritize the sentiments of their people and not their own. Agents are supposed to sacrifice their own intentions and feelings for that of their principal. Otherwise, they cease to become agents and therefore the principal can then revoke the agency.
What happened in the Congress is the system failing its people. The DE FACTO representatives representing only themselves and not the people.

You’re right, however, that all of the past revolutions were FIESTA REVOLUTIONS. What we really need is a true revolution to shake up the whole socio-economic-political structure that have been installed here since the time of the Spaniards. What have we got to lose there? Only those rich people, that have been sucking the blood of the poor for hundreds of years will feel the effect of this revolution.
Another thing: Communists never wanted ANARCHY. In fact communism is an order and a way of life. Anarchy is the opposite.

Just some food for thought about democracy:
————————————————–
In 1787, a Scottish history professor by the name of Professor Alexander Tyler had this to say about “The Fall of the Athenian Republic” over 2,000 years previous to that date:

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse (generous gifts) from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”
“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through this sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
from spiritual faith to great courage;
from courage to liberty;
from liberty to abundance,
from abundance to complacency;
from complacency to apathy,
from apathy to dependence,
from dependence back into bondage.”
———————————-
Another quote:
———————————–
So, what’s wrong with democracy? Majority rule; and, the will of the majority would seem to be a most desirable state. The will of the majority invariably becomes very destructive when that majority uses its power to plunder the minority. When the majority [or influential power block] is feeding at the public hog trough and the minority [or silent majority] are the wealth producers, such a democracy rapidly destructs. The wealth producers eventually refuse to produce, or, are hamstrung by increased taxation.

The medium of exchange of property [money] inflates [or, more appropriately, devalues] and property and wealth gravitates to a few, causing a cycle back to tyranny.
——————————————————

That’s why the founding father’s of the US never wanted a democracy.

_________________________________________________________________

James Madison in the Federalist Papers No. 10 (1787):

“… there is nothing to check the inducements to sacrifice the weaker party or an obnoxious individual. Hence it is that such democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.”

John Adams – Second President of the US
“Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.”

“[D]emocracy will soon degenerate into an anarchy; such an anarchy that every man will do what is right in his own eyes and no man’s life or property or reputation or liberty will be secure, and every one of these will soon mould itself into a system of subordination of all the moral virtues and intellectual abilities, all the powers of wealth, beauty, wit, and science, to the wanton pleasures, the capricious will, and the execrable [abominable] cruelty of one or a very few.”

John Quincy Adams –
“[T]he experience of all former ages had shown that of all human governments, democracy was the most unstable, fluctuating and short-lived.”

Gary Macleod-
“Democracies always self-destruct when the non-productive majority realizes that it can vote itself handouts from the productive minority by electing the candidate promising the most benefits from the public treasury. To maintain their power, these candidates must adopt an ever-increasing tax and spend policy to satisfy the ever-increasing desires of the majority. As taxes increase, incentive to produce decreases, causing many of the once productive to drop out and join the non-productive. When there are no longer enough producers to fund the legitimate functions of government and the socialist programs, the democracy will collapse, always to be followed by a Dictatorship.”
——————————————————–

Sounds pretty familiar to what we are experiencing right now.

I think you only insulted yourself when you said :that when we follow the people on the street that we will have chaos and anarchy.YOU ARE ONE OF US! Maybe if its people like you BENIGNO who will go to the streets…. THEN WE WILL HAVE ANARCHY.

I THINK ITS TIME TO STOP BELITLING THE PEOPLE ON THE STREET. WE ARE NOT DUMB,most of us are well educated, FILIPINOS ARE NOT DUMB. Remember you are ONE OF US!!! The same people on the street fought a dictator and WON, the same people who ousted a corrupt president and WON, AND THE SAME PEOPLE WHO WILL OUST AGAIN A CHEATER AND LIAR PRESIDENT!

Actually, the Pro impeachment group should appreciate what Imee and the Erap people did. Their voting/not voting for the impeachment of PGMA will remove their participation from the exercise. So, the Pro impeach group cannot be accused of just being too eager to grab power. Who among Escudero, Cayetano, Remulla, etc. has the right to replace the president? O baka sabihin ninyo they are being used by Pimentel, Drillon, etc. I have the feeling that what is going on is Divine intervention. I shall call it processing to separate the grains from the chaff. i have a theory kung bakit ang marcos at erap blocs at absent o silent sa botohan. ito ay hindi verificado ngunit malakas ang huntahan: dahil kay Tita Cory. Totoo man o hindi, we all know how far apart the politics are between these two groups. Right now, with Cory and her minions plus the Reds at the helm of the rallies, its the Edsa I & II show again. This time against each other!

Now it can be told. Right after the Congress brouhaha Atty. Lozano was reported to have been at the DOJ regarding the requests of the Marcoses for the former president to be buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. Payback time daw sabi ng Media. It really smells fishy. We can now tie the loose ends.

At this time whoever hold the money or whoever have the authority to dispose the money is powerful. Now how can we put them in court if they have all the power, so we better use our power.

baguio folks out there (and still at our no-longer-so-fair city),

fyi: congressman domogan voted YES against the impeachment.

draw your own conclusions, decide what to do in the next elections.

personally, i had hoped that the man would show some spine, instead of the graft we were used to under vergara.

tsk tsk.

now we have the impeachment folks penalized by GMA through the administration majority.

power corrupts, and absolute power is actually pretty neat, eh, GMA?
