The fall guy refuses to sing

AFTER two hours of intensive grilling which yielded a lot of befuddlement and no clear answers, National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales Jr. was cited for contempt by the Senate and kept in detention under the custody of the Senate sergeant of arms.

At times bumbling, at other times seemingly deliberately dense, Gonzales frustrated the Senate blue-ribbon committee with his inability to give straight answers to their questions about the nearly $1-million contract he signed with the US lobby firm, Venable LLP, to secure donations and US Congress earmarks to support the charter change initiative. (See PCIJ story on the Venable contract here.)

The senators, who were obviously primed for the grilling, got at best vague answers to their questions. There were times when it looked like Gonzales was feigning stupidity; other times it seemed his befuddlement was genuine. The senators felt they were being outfoxed and accused the official of running circles around them.

Although the national security adviser said his blood sugar levels were up, he did not get much sympathy from his interrogators. In the end, Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel Jr. moved to hold him in contempt and placed in the custody of the Senate “to impress upon him that he is not above the law."

Sen. Joker Arroyo, blue-ribbon committee chair, asked the Senate physician to look after Gonzales, who said he was suffering from hypertension. Not long afterward, the official was rushed to the Heart Center.

During the questioning, Gonzales tried to shield the President from any culpability in the signing of the Venable contract, leading some senators to remark that he was trying to be a fall guy for Mrs. Arroyo. Although they tried as hard as they could, the senators could not get Gonzales to answer the following questions:

  • Whose idea was it to get the contract? Gonzales said the idea came to him after the resignations of the Hyatt 10 on July 8, but he could not say who told him to get in touch with Venable and whether the president had a direct hand in the choice of the firm.
  • Whose idea was it to let private donors foot Venable’s bill? In an interview with GMA 7 news earlier this week, Gonzales said it was the president’s. Today he was no longer as categorical. He gave a vague answer to the effect that he and the president talked about getting private donations to pay for the hefty contract.
  • Who introduced him to Venable? He said could not name names without clearing it with the broker, whoever it was. Sen. Serge Osmeña asked leading questions whether it was businessman Tomas  Alcantara, the president’s chief of staff.
  • What is the extent of the President’s involvement in getting the contract? Gonzales said he was given verbal authority to get the services of a lobby firm but had not shown the president a copy of the actual contract.
  • Has Venable been paid for its services? Previously, Gonzales had told GMA 7 that the firm had been given a three-month advance, that there was work rendered, and a report filed. Today he said he’s not sure but he assumes Venable had been paid. He explained that while the National Security Council is the implementing agency for the contract, it was not the Council but private donors, who would pay for it. When asked if he had a receipt for the payments, Gonzales said no, but he will find out. Do you have receipt? No, but he will find out.
  • How was the contract rescinded? Gonzales said he called one of the Venable lawyers this week and asked for a “mutual termination” of the contract, which would mean that the three-month cancellation fee need not be paid. But further questioning showed there was no written agreement that the fees would be waived and because of this, the provisions of the contract, which stipulated cancellation fees, were still in effect. Gonzales said he was not sure whether the phone call sufficed to cancel the provision on cancellation fees.

Although his performance at the Senate today was dismal, it inspired the Black & White Movement to issue the following statement, asking the Cabinet to quit and to stop covering for a President “who serves only herself”:

Secretary Norberto Gonzales has now been cited for contempt by the Senate of the Philippines, and the books of all the government entities he’s associated with have been subpoenaed. He is paying the ultimate price of loyalty to a chief executive who neither rewards nor recognizes loyalty. We in Black & White recall that Sec. Norberto Gonzalez said in an interview that the President told him not worry about the funds to pay for the Venable contract. The President, according to Gonzalez, said, there’d be a foreign donor.

Then on Max Soliven’s special show on ANC, the President herself said that she does not micromanage contracts and that she left everything to "Bert." That, indeed she did. She’s left everything to Bert, including twisting and hanging in the wind to cover up and be held accountable for something he could only have done, as an extension of the personality of the President. He has received neither reassurance nor support from the President. He is close to being accused of treasonous behavior. And for what? To serve the interests of a President who stands behind nothing: not her own decisions and policies, not her cabinet members, not the interest of the country.

Black & White Movement appeals to the cabinet of the President: this is what you will get, for thinking your service to the President is service to the country. You will be asked questions you cannot answer, because of the deviousness of the President you serve. You will be asked to defend policies the true nature of which has been kept from you by the President. You will be held accountable for things the President, and not you, should be held to account. The President serves no one but herself, and is prepared to do any disservice to any person, including members of her own official family, if it serves her interests.

The cabinet should cease serving a President who serves only herself. Serve the country. Serve our people. Leave the Palace. The farce has been exposed; you are puppets in a play that’s sinister and self-serving.

We don’t wanna make him like Mang Garcilliano who makes him the “GREAT ESCAPE” artist of the Philippines to date…

$1 Million dollars…Even the poorest Filipinos doesn’t have any idea how much is $1 Million dollar because they don’t even have a P100 bill…

And then here are the experts of governing and so called leaders of this land who are manipulating these “TRANSUCKTIONS” , here we go with the “SUCKING” . Remember, POLY- TICKS… TICKS are blood sucking creatures…and in the Philippine Goverment..there are a lot of MONEY SUCKERS…

For Mr. Gonzalez… your sickness might kill you…if you want to face GOD with confidence…Face “US” the Filipino people…We are exact tax payers of this land… We are indirectly paying you to work in the Government…

Ano ‘to, glorifying martial rule of Marcos?

The fall guy, huh? Well, let’s leave ‘Bert’ to fall, I’m sure he himself decided on that anyway when he inked the Venable contract. Or maybe they never expected the PCIJ to find out about it? Hah! Serves them right, then! The PCIJ’s message: Our eyes are on you!

But when ‘Bert’ does fall, that shouldn’t be the end of things. Every ounce of truth must be extracted from him, because this is another direct maneuver by GMA, and she must also be accountable for this treason!

The sad part is that these scandals and maneuverings are now being reflected in the micro- level: in the other gov’t agencies and the local gov’t units. Our national leadership is a joke, and our economy will soon follow it down the toilet if we don’t clean up our trash.

Naturingan pa manding graduate ng Ateneo de Davao U at UP. Napakalinaw naman ng provision na: “Work by Venable on behalf of the Philippine Government shall commence upon receipt of an initial retainer for the first three months of service.”

What happened to National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales, being cited for contempt, should serve as a big lesson to all officials in government. He has just earned the shameful distinction of being the first cabinet member to be cited and detained by the Senate for contempt. Let this serve as a warning never, ever go beyond the limit of authority inherent to the office they hold, and have the courage to tell off the President if the order or instructions given are unlawful if not highly questionable. It is officials like Gonzales that contribute to making a good leadership turn bad when they cannot say NO to the President just like Garcillano showed his unprincipled servility when he allowed himself to be used.

You KNOW what is funny about this drama in the senate? Whatever happens, GMA and her loyal dog Gonzales will surely get away with it AGAIN!!!

And why? Although the majority of filipinos does not trust her and want her out, the majority of us does not make a move. Most of us will just sit, observe, and say who will replace her? WE THINK OF A LOT OF REASONS like were busy with work, the opposition is not trusthworthy, or Noli is worst.Honestly with all the reasons I listed, I cant think of anything worst than GMA staying in power. We will have a better chance with the people mentioned than GMA. Come to think of it some people choose her because she is the lesser evil, well think again, I think she is even worst because she is selling the country to foreign interest.

Unless everyone makes a move, join rallies and express their true sentiments, ALL THESE THINGS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL WE ALL GO DOWN!!!
LETS US ALL MOVE NOW! BEFORE ITS TO LATE!!!

IF YOU DONT AGREE WITH ME THEN, DONT COMPLAIN ANYMORE LET HER BE, BECAUSE YOU DESERVE HER AS PRESIDENT!!!

As the saying goes;
“He who is will do do something will find the means, He who is unwilling to do anything will find Excuses”.
SO PLEASE STOP MAKING EXCUSES!!

The date of the contract itself is questionable. Just imagine GMA is under impeachment proceeding and yet they are COCKY enough to solicit a Lobbying Contract.

It is either they are arrogant and confident that the impeachment proceeding will not prosper OR that they already knew that the whole IMPEACHMENT showdown is just for a show.

Well, what can you expect from those greedy congressman. Siguro they themselves are promised to have a portion of the funds coming from the lobbying campaign in exchange for “No” to impeachment and “Yes” to CHACHA.

Gonzales’ banana eating on today’s PDI made me smile.

Gonzales’ fumbling because of lying in yesterday’s Senate hearing made me laugh.

Gonzales’ smoke screening of gloria’s hand in the venable agreement is enough to put an end to my smile as well as my laugh.

More reasons to stop smiling and laughing in the advent of Malacanang’s ” rule of calibrated preemptive response in lieu of maximum tolerance”.

Well done senate blue-ribbon committee! The people want to know more about all these lobby contracts executed by GMA’s government since 2001. I hope the committee will also investigate on the other lobby contracts. No wonder why we have increasing budget deficit since GMA assumed the presidency. These lobby contracts are sure not part of the General Appropriations.

Poor Gonzales, GMA is holding him on the neck. If GMA really loves him, i’m sure emissaries from Malacañang are now talking to some members of the Committee to go easy on him and lift the contempt.

Just like the murdered impeachment complaint, we expect that this investigation will likewise be killed or die naturally if Senators Arroyo, Mar Roxas et. al. succumb to the pressure from Malacañang.

Question is, ganito na lang ba tayo lagi?

Each one can and would do what is right in his own eyes. As for me, I choose to believe that there is a God who will judge every man’s motives and deeds.

Asked whether he has authority, he said to the media (prior to senate hearing) that he has authority from the President, during the senate committee hearing he told them his authority was only verbal.

Asked who is funding the contract, first he said it was funded both publicly and publicly, asked by the senate, he said during it is funded solely by private donations;

Asked who are these private donors, he said he doesn’t know.

Asked if charter change was the subject of the lobby contract, he told the media (prior to the hearing) that yes it is charter change that is the subject matter of the lobby; Asked by the senate, he said it is not solely charter change but imrpoving philippine image…

National Insecurity Adviser Norberto Gonzales should be confined in a hospital room numbered 158, the infamous number representing COVER-UP.

Speaking of COVER-UPS, here’s a joke:

Heard from a PLDT voice prompt:

“Welcome to 171, the PLDT customer service. For the immediate repair of your telephone line, please hang up and dial 173. For directory assistance, dial 187. For emergency and rescue operations, dial 117. For Bantay-Bata (ay mali, sa kalaban pala yon), dial 163. FOR COVER-UPS, DIAL 158.”

Yes, 158 from here on will be known among Filipinos the world over as the number of COVER-UP. The number represents the bootlickers of GMA who wanted so much to protect her because that meant protecting themselves. MAGAGALING TALAGA ITONG MGA TINAMAAN NA LINTIK NA MGA ITO. He had it coming. Nationalistic siya ng wala siya sa posisiyon, ngayon nasa malacanang na siya, he sold out. Was Venable contracted to do what it says on the contract or was that just a smokescreen? Simple answers to questions like who referred Venable to Gonzales doesn’t conpromise national security. Answers to the question like who were the donors doesn’t compromise national security, unless the donors are foreigners who want to protect their vested interest.

Bunyi is like his boss, very smug at mayabang. He wants the senate to respect Gonzales because he is from a co-equal part of the goverment yet they disrespected the senate by treating like idiots. Bunyi is lucky that the Congress are GMA’s cronies and they don’t mind being perceived as brainless kaya he was cited in contempt. You want respect, then respect the Senate process.

I pity him. Just to please his boss, he is willing to take all the blame and even willing to die to protect her, really a true and dedicated follower, i just hope that he will do the same for the filipino…. just a piece of unsolicited advice… you should be loyal to the filipino people and not just to your boss. Bear in mind that Philippines is not your boss but it is the 84 million filipino that comprises it. Being loyal is one but being used is another. What i couldn’t take in this administration is how it can turned principled men to be somebody they can’t imagine they can be.

I hope my former LSM classmate and ADMU schoolmate Gabby Claudio will accidentally read this piece.

My friend, be true to your Christian training in Lourdes School and Ateneo. Why are you toeing the line of GMA to protect herself from possible incrimination in the hot issue of the Venable contract? You are not being paid by Filipinos tax money to squander in making obviously biased phone calls to influence a member of the Senate to be soft on Norberto Gonzales. Why are you allowing yourself to be a party to a seeming cover-up, at the expense of Pinoy taxpayers? That is not the brand of people Lourdes and Ateneo produce!

Don’t you see the necessity of screening the National Security Adviser to ferret out the truth? Where is your nationalism? If there is anyone who should be anxious about the health of Mr. Gonzales, it should be your boss, GMA and you yourself and the way to really get Mr. Gonzales off the hook is to relieve him from his very excruciating position defending GMA by you or GMA herself volunteering the details of the deal (of course, I realize that GMA will never reveal her inner secrets). I say YOU because your call to Senator Richard Gordon revealed an apparent familiarity with this deal.

But, if indeed you are not aware of what this contract is all about, then why in heaven’s name were you trying to persuade Senator Gordon to abandon his pro-detention stance on Mr. Gonzales’ refusal to give direct answers to the questions of the Blue-Ribbon Committee? Loyalty to the Glory? Tingnan mo si Butch Abad and his wife Congresswoman Dina Abad, your younger schoolmates in ADMU. They know when to cut and they are loyal to the Filipino people and not to any particular individual.

If you know something about the deal, reveal it for the sake of truth and patriotism. Pwede ka pa maging dakila. On the other hand, if you do not know anything about the deal, then stop persuading the allies of GMA to change their position on the detention of the National Security Adviser because your ignorance on the topic of Venable makes your effort to persuade simply empty and pictures you as subservient.

Catch 22, ka-batch. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Because you insist in defending the indefensible.

I am your LSM Ka-Batch ’67 under Mr.Reyes ang magaling nating English teacher, that 1967 where you were at the top of the Batch with your brother Raffy. I am likewise your schoolmate in ADMU from 1971 to 1975 though I stayed longer in ADMU because I was not as intelligent as you were. Sorry initials muna ha, nasa blog tayo:VMB. May clue ka na.

This incident with Gonzales only shows why the impeachment had to be killed in the congress. Imagine if the impeachment was sent to the senate, palagay ko, wala pang one week, wala na si pandak sa Malacanang. Mawawala yung check and balance sa government should the senate be removed. What we have now is a rubberstamp congress, imagine if we change to a parliamentary system.

A BACKGROUNDER ON SECRETARY NORBERTO B. GONZALES

They wanted to demean and humiliate him. One called him a man with a flawed character. Another said he was acting like a pimp. Still another questioned his qualifications for his post.

Indeed, they questioned his character, his patriotism, his intelligence and, in general, his fitness for his present position in the government.
From the start of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on September 21, the senators’ hostility towards him was palpable. In the course of the hearing, he was subjected to verbal abuse and made to taste their arrogance. Nasty, condescending and insulting remarks were thrown at him; and at the end of the hearing, he was cited for contempt and put be under Senate detention.

Just who is Secretary Norberto B. Gonzales, this man, whose character, patriotism, intelligence and fitness to serve as National Security Adviser the senators are questioning?

The Information and Communication Department of the Partido Demokratiko-Sosyalista ng Pilipinas (PDSP) offers the following background information on him:

· Sec. Gonzales is the leading social democratic leader in the country. He is the founding chairperson of the Partido Demokratiko-Sosyalista ng Pilipinas (PDSP), the country’s only non-communist ideologically-based political party and its sixth major party, producing two (2) congressmen, two (2) governors and 63 municipal and city mayors in last year’s local elections. His being a social democrat makes him a very staunch defender of democracy and, consequently, pet peeve of the communists and other extremist forces both from the left and the right.

· His love for his country and his people is indisputable. The 58-year old secretary has been engaged in the struggle for the emancipation of the country and the Filipino people from imperialism, dictatorship, poverty and social injustice for almost 40 years now—that is, since his youth days and practically his entire adult life.

· He is of humble origin, but he valued education. The third son of a fisherman, he was born in Balanga, Bataan where he completed his primary education, graduating on top of his class. He moved to Davao City to complete his secondary education and wrapped up a pre-med degree in Ateneo de Davao, under the guardianship of an elder brother who had earlier migrated in Mindanao. He tried to pursue a master’s degree in chemistry at UP Dilman but his involvement in the protest movement disrupted his post-bachelor study. Much, much later, he completed his Master’s degree in National Security Administration from the National Defense College.

· His involvement in patriotic causes can be traced back in 1967. He had then moved to Manila to pursue a master’s degree in chemistry at UP Diliman. He was attracted to and joined a movement established by Raul Manglapus and called Barangay ng mga Hari or Baranghari for short. The rise of social unrest in the late 60s during the second term of Ferdinand Marcos got Gonzales more deeply involved in the protest movement, causing him to drop out from his masteral studies. It was at this time that he met then Romeo J. Intengan, Jr., a young surgeon who also came from the state university. The young and idealistic Gonzales took part in group protests supported by the Jesuit priests, Brothers, and scholastics.

· Gonzales, aside from being idealistic and patriotic, was also a skillful and diligent organizer. Starting as organizer of urban poor, labor and youth, he joined hands with Dr. Intengan in forming the Kilusan ng mga Demokratikong Sosyalista ng Pilipinas (KDSP) which had mass bases in Metro Manila, Iloilo and Davao. The suspension of the writ of habeas corpus and the subsequent imposition of Martial Law in 1972 pushed Gonzales and his fellow activists to continue their work underground. They transformed KDSP into a political party and renamed it PDSP on May 1, 1973, with Gonzales as its founding chairperson. Gonzales then was only 26.

· Subsequently, in the rest of the 70s, Gonzales and Intengan led PDSP in engaging in organizing other progressive moderate elements of Philippine society, and forged alliances with prominent anti-Marcos politicians. They initiated the formation of the Katipunan ng Bayan para sa Kalayaan (KABAKA) which had Sen. Jovito Salonga as Chairperson, Sen. Francisco “Soc” Rodrigo as Vice-Chairperson and Intengan as Secretary-General.

· In general, the PDSP cadres, during the Martial Law period were aligned with the democratic opposition. During this time, when being able to organize even a small symposium was already considered heroic, the PDSP cadres organized mass actions for prominent opposition personalities like Salonga, Sen. Raul Manglapus, Sen. Gerardo “Gerry” Roxas and Sen. Eva Estrada-Kalaw. This partnership with the opposition led into the formation of Laban ng Bayan (LABAN). Benigno Aquino, Jr,, then a political detainee, wanted to run in the Interim Batasang Pambansa (IBP) election of 1978. He approached Soc Rodrigo to seek the support of KABAKA as his campaign machinery. However, the leadership of PDSP and KABAKA, together with its allies, decided instead to establish Laban to serve as Aquino’s campaign machinery.

On 6 April 1978, the eve of the IBP election, PDSP provided the cadres that spearheaded the noise barrage in Metro Manila. When the election proved to be a sham, being marred with massive ballot-switching, intimidation, and outright physical violence on the part of the martial law authorities against the LABAN operatives, giving the ruling party, Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL), spurious claim to all the assembly seats in Metro Manila, PDSP cadres, again, spearheaded the prayer march-rally on 9 April 1978 in protest of the electoral fraud. This mass action resulted in the arrest and detention of half of the leadership of PDSP, including Gonzales and Intengan.

· After release from detention, Gonzales employed again his skill in organizing and alliance-building in 1979 when he started establishing linkage with Nur Misuari’s Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF). Earlier, he had recruited and made the Sultan of Sulu a friend of PDSP. It was the Sultan who brought him to Saudi Arabia and, there, introduced him and Misuari to each other.

Gonzales’ dialogue with the Muslim leader led to an agreement between PDSP and MNLF to cooperate politically and militarily. It also resulted in the strong affinity between PDSP and Muslim leaders that has lasted to date.

The new friendship between PDSP and MNLF became helpful for the former when its leaders had to go into exile in 1980. They sought refuge in Jampiras, Sabah under the auspices of their Muslim brothers from MNLF. The PDSP cadres stayed in Sabah until 1982 when some of them moved to Spain.

· The PDSP leaders’ host in Spain was the country’s social democratic party, the Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE). Again it was largely through Gonzales’ skill at forging linkages that friendly relationship between PDSP and PSOE was established. While in Spain, he started working out PDSP’s membership in the Socialist International, the worldwide umbrella organization of all social democratic parties.
Gonzales stayed in Spain until the dictator was booted out through a people power uprising in 1986.

· When Corazon Aquino was installed in power in February 1986, she tapped the country’s leading social democratic leader to form part of the panel tasked to negotiate with the MNLF. This was a well-advised move on the part of the new President given Gonzales’ connections with Nur Misuari and his group. Gonzales, as member of the negotiating panel, brought Pres. Aquino to Jolo and introduced her and the MNLF leader to each other. Two years of subsequent talks led to a ceasefire between government and the Moro rebel group, which culminated in a peace agreement on 2 September 1996.

· After his stint as member of the peace panel with MNLF, Gonzales continued to help the Aquino government in achieving and maintaining stability in other ways. Specifically, he employed his coalition-building skills and his extensive connections within the democratically-inclined organized labor and peasant sectors to consolidate both sectors towards the collective defense and promotion of democracy.

· Under the administration of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Gonzales has again been tapped by government first as Presidential Adviser for Special Concerns, then as National Security Adviser, later as Presidential Chief of Staff and now back as National Security Adviser since February this year. His comrades in PDSP consider the following as among the highlights of his services to the incumbent government:

Ø Initiated efforts resulting in presidential proclamation of public lands for the urban poor in various communities in Metro Manila;

Ø Negotiated and concluded with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) the Implementing Guidelines on the Humanitarian, Rehabilitation and Development Aspects of the GRP-MILF Tripoli Agreement on Peace of 2001; and

Ø Undertook back channel efforts for the peace negotiation between government and the NDF and eventually drafted the proposal for shift in government’s counter-insurgency strategy.

Nice piece, Pinoy Socdem… parang brochure a…. parang yung flyers na pinapamigay pag mga kampanya…

at any rate, i just hoped his courage, patriotism, and what-have-you come out when it matters the most.

all he had to do was defend the contract he signed, if he believed he did nothing wrong.

but since he seemed at a lost (or hiding something) during the Senate inquiry: two things: he is too stupid to become NSA to enter into contracts he doesn’t understand OR he is too shrewd to back-up his being “idealistic and patriotic,…. and a skillful and diligent organizer”.

Can’t blame those people who have so diligently showed support for Gonzalez… but can’t blame those who feel otherwise either.

Gonzales is more of an anarchist!! He is believed to have asked the Malaysian govt then to support the MNLF in the 70’s to hasten the downfall of the Marcos govt.

I’m not impressed with his qualifications so as to consider him a patriot. Gonzales is no different from Jose de Venecia- both used management skills to further their own interests. And for the life of me, it is only this year that I ‘ve heard of Partido Demokratiko Sosyalista ng Pilipinas. The name sounds similarly with Jose Sison’s National Democratic Front.

Gonzales has insulted the Senate, he therefore deserves contempt, otherwise he remains under custody of the Senate until he answers the questions.

Pinoy Socdem,

Quite a background on Secretary Gonzales you have there. I agree with you that he indeed has sterling qualities.

Sayang nga lang, now that he is faced with a challenge of siding with the truth, he has decided to be a diplomat par excellence which is not what we need at this time. Sayang talaga, Socdem.

Why couldn’t he even say straight to the Senators: “I think my superiors will be able to answer that question more competently since they know more about this Venable deal than me.” Instead, he chose to hide under the cloak of ignorance (you think a guy like the one you described in your piece about him will simply end up in a negotiation not knowing at least important details? duh…) and deception.

Sayang talaga, Socdem. He squandered one golden chance to save the truth about this Little Lady in Malacanang who is now on trial in a public court. Silence is golden, they say, but not when you use it to hide the truth.

But you know, Socdem. I am tempted to give the Secretary the benefit of the doubt. Pinigil agad ni God kasi alam niya na this is uncharacteristic of the guy. To be lying is not part of the man’s God-given vocation. But it happened one day in September 2005. The guy lied. Kaya yun. Sinilensiyo muna.

Sayang talaga Socdem. If he is your friend, which is what I see, kindly tell him to turn around to save his soul and save millions of Filipinos from the clutches of a sinister Leader who is out to do anything fair or foul just to stay in power.

Di pa huli ang lahat, Socdem. Buhay pa si Secretary. May pag-asa pa.

LONG LIVE THE TRUTH!! BUT WHERE IS IT?

Bensgr8, I am glad you did not say anything foul about the more influential senators like Nene Pimentel, Joker Arroyo, Manny Villar and Franklin Drilon or baka nakalimutan mo lang? They are all critical of the man you have cast your lot with.

In your first, unedited version, you mentioned the name of Senator Gordon as being one of those you think make sense in their pronouncements then you deleted his name in your edited version. Why? You probably recalled that when a trusted defender of GMA Secretary Gabby Claudio called Senator Gordon, the Senator begged off from abandoning his position in favor of detaining the uncooperative NSA.

It appears that for you, people who make sense are those who don’t stake their reputation to painstakingly draw out the truth at all costs. Those who simply let things pass by without complications, without criticisms, without rebuke, without accountability. All mercy. No justice. All gain, no pain. All glory, no guts (takot kay glory?).. Fancy and dandy, we go to party kind of stuff!

Smells of the emerging new philosophy of 158. The philosophy of cover-up. Remember 158? That’s probably the hospital room number of the NSA.

Tsk, tsk, tsk.
