TWO top government officials received positive satisfaction ratings from respondents in the Fourth Quarter 2005 survey of the Social Weather Stations.

Vice president Noli de Castro got a net satisfaction rating of +34, as 58 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with his performance and 24 percent were dissatisfied. This is lower than the +39 rating he got in the August 26-September 5 survey last year.

Senate president Franklin Drilon got a +24 rating, up from his +22 in September. Forty-nine percent of respondents were satisfied by his performance.

The same SWS survey found a "neutral" satisfaction rating for Speaker Jose de Venecia, with 37 percent saying they were satisfied and the same proportion, dissatisfied, resulting to a net zero rating. He got a net -2 in May and a net zero in September 2005.

In a statement sent to the media, De Castro thanked the Filipino people for their trust and support. He said he will "always have the best interests of the people" in mind.  He also hopes to be "an example to other public servants in different government positions."

The Executive branch received negative rating: a net -15 rating for the National Administration and -6 for the Cabinet. Satisfaction ratings with the legislative branch diminished: from a net +20 in September to +14 for the Senate and from +12 in September +7 in December for the House of Representatives.

The survey was done between November 27 and December 4, 2005.

well, jonas what can you expect? he was just reading a script in front of the tv. to me he’s no different than a movie star. that was his route to stardom. just like those three others senators. walang pakinabang. mantakin mo yung isa sasabihin pa bakit daw siya titigil sa pag-aartista eh hindi naman daw siya mabubuhay sa sueldo ng pagiging senador? nakakadismaya talaga. tumakbo pang senador. well, as usual sinamantala ang kakulangan ng kaalaman ng masang filipino.

exactly why we have a law that put all politician in government position businesses in blind trust. A politician run for office to serve the public as the primary goal not to make a career of building up wealth. The reason why successful businessmen and women don’t consider going into politics until they’re comfortably financially secure.

I think a law that prohibits politician to engage in running businessess concurrent with running the business of government should be considered. Actually we go beyond that, out of fear of losing the government, most governing party will have an inside rule not allowing any member to engage in any conflict of interest, lest they’ll be sitting in the opposition bench for a long, long time…a suggestion a day.

GOOD DAY EVERYONE!

Allow me to share you an idea which could help us on:

What’s the best form of government we should have?
Who are eligible to vote?
Who shall be eligible to run in any election?
Is our problem exclusive to the country, or is it a worldwide phenomenon?

These questions could be best answered, to my belief, by downloading a file from http://www.rael.org/download.php?view.6

Combined it with readings from Executive Intelligence Review at http://www.larouchepub.com/

From there, we shall have a very exciting discussion without prejudice to your previous opinions.

Thank you.
