Friends and family members gathered at the UP Diliman chapel Saturday night, October 10 2009, for the final night of the wake of Alecks Pabico.

It was a night of songs and testimonials for the man many called the Gentle Warrior. Singer Noel Cabangon serenaded the assembled crowd of journalists, activists, and former student leaders with songs that Alecks liked. The night was capped with a short message delivered by his wife Mira on behalf of the family.

Tributes also continued to pour in, especially from the blogosphere. These include tributes by Danny Arao, Cha Felix, and J. Angelo Racoma.
