The Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism is proud to present the second installment of its Media Killings Series of documentaries aired on GMANewsTV last November 26, 2011.

Herson Hinolan was one of the most aggressive radio broadcasters of the Western Visayas. In November 2004, Hinolan was murdered by a gunman in Kalibo, Aklan. Witnesses pointed to a small-town mayor as the one responsible for Hinolan’s murder. Lezo town Mayor Alfredo Arcenio is currently facing murder charges for the death of Hinolan.

“See No Evil” is not just the story of one man and his family’s fight for justice; it is also the story of a weak justice system that is overly reliant on testimonial instead of forensic evidence. More importantly, it is the story of just how difficult it is to find and maintain witnesses who are willing to fight throughout the entire life of a lengthy court case.
