A FINANCE DIRECTOR of the Megaword Corporation stood as 7th withness
for the Prosecution on Day 8 of the Impeachment Trial of Chief Justice
Renato Corona.

Giovanni Ng presented documents pertaining to the sale of Megaworld’s
Bellagio penthouse in Mckinley Hill, Taguig to the Coronas.

The Deed of Absolute Sale on the property bore the name of Maria
Charina Corona, daughter of the Chief Justice, as the buyer of the
Bellagio penthouse.

Ng also produced a handwritten letter from the Coronas dated September
8, 2008 stating that it was their daughter, Charina, who paid for the
property, hence a request for a Deed of Assignment to the latter. But
upon examination of all 27 receipts of payment on the property, it was
Chief Justice Renato Corona and his wife, Cristina, who paid for the
property.

The Bellagio penthouse was not declared in any of the Chief Justice’s
Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth, a violation of the
Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act which is one of complaints
included in Article of Impeachment 2.
