Pangilinan: Systematic dishonesty

SENATOR-JUDGE Francis Pangilinan said Chief Justice Renato Corona had shown a systematic pattern of dishonesty, and should be removed from the Supreme Court.

Pangilinan said that Corona himself had stated before that lawyers who are proven to have lied should also be removed from the bar.

“It pains me as a lawyer to say that clearly the Chief Justice has displayed a disturbing pattern of dishonesty and evasion, and disregard of the Constitution on the statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth,” Pangilinan said.

Pangilinan added that Corona had shown himself unworthy of his post, just by his “show of disrespect” when he appeared to have walked out of the senate impeachment trial Tuesday last week.
